IMO, Mazda will need to have a ridiculous warranty to bring people back in and in order to pull that off they'll have to hammer the new engine much harder than they did the Renesis.

Man, I hope not.
Either way, a manufacturer saying that their production cars will vaguely resemble their concepts isn't really groundbreaking. That article feels like quota-filling.

10% under 400 hp is 360 hp. That's a pretty wide margin.
But for $20, I will state the engine, if it's a N/A twin rotor, and installed in a mass produced sports car for $45k and under, and hits the world market by October 15th 2020, will not be over 375 hp. Can't be a Japan only one-off pre-production machine.
No precedent in Mazda's history, and I will back that up.

The grammar issue with the title combined with the fact that they are suspension testing a Grand Touring instead of a S3 RX-8 makes me think that "future supercar" isn't what they are testing for.

"Are Mazda" is correct British English, I believe. They address corporations as groups of people, so "are" is correct. In the US, we treat corporations as individuals, so "Is Mazda" would be correct. If this is a Brit or Euro magazine, the headline may not be a reason to discount its contents.
Also, no comment on whether the 570s was instrumented? Maybe a Mazda exec just wanted some track time.
