MAZDA in Australia News

Mazda in Australia does it again, no other brand including so called luxury can boast the SSI and CSI index like Mazda Dealers and Mazda product down under...

From GoAuto...

MAZDA has emerged as the top performing automotive brand in Australia for sales satisfaction among new-car buyers, ranking higher than all other leading brands – including prestige marques – in the inaugural JD Power Australia Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) study released today.

The Japanese car-maker’s industry leading performance makes it a benchmark brand at both the front and back end of the dealership, having led the field for two out of the past three years in JD Power’s influential Customer Service Index (CSI) study which measures customer satisfaction with maintenance and repair service.

MAZDA in Australia News #2 for new car sales.

Hi guys, Mazda down under is still doing a great selling job up against the might of Toyota and Toyota Australia, Ford, FCA, Nissan, General Motors, Honda, etc.

MA is very fortunate to have a very loyal buyer (Customer) base and a Dealer network the envy of every other nation, that is why the CEO/Presidents and corporate heads keep coming down under to look at how Mazda Australia and their Dealer network does it.

Mazda boosts monthly sales average over 10,000

5th October 2016

Having sold a record 12,009 vehicles in September, Mazda's monthly sales average has risen above 10,000 units, according to VFACTS figures released today.

The strength of the Mazda range - combined with increased buyer interest resulting from its annual M Day sales event - has seen sales jump to over 12,000 this month, only the second time Mazda has broken this barrier. With sales above 10,000 achieved on five occasions this year, Mazda is well on pace for another record year.

Year-To-Date (YTD), Mazda has sold 90,700 cars, SUVs and utilities for a 10.2 per cent slice of the Australian market with overall sales up 5.5 per cent Year-On-Year (YOY). The second best performing automotive manufacturer in September and YTD, Mazda maintains its position as the nation's favourite full-line importer.

Mazda3 was the country's best-selling vehicle in September with 3,491 sales, up 23.9 per cent against its August tally. A favourite for the private buyer, Mazda3 has 27,898 YTD sales.

Mazda's SUV range enjoyed outstanding September success, with the nation's most popular SUV, Mazda CX-5, recording a new all-time monthly record of 2,662 retails. First-Ever Mazda CX-3 was the most popular small SUV, also posting an all-time best of 1,878 sales.

In addition, Brand-New Mazda CX-9 - which went on sale in early July - had it second-best month ever with 641 sales - an all-time September high. Collectively, Mazda's three SUV nameplates accounted for 5,181 sales last month, more than any of its competitors.

Mazda BT-50 also posted a new September record with 1,361 retails. Enjoying 11,279 YTD sales, BT-50 is not only on track to break its current annual sales record of 13,702 (2013), but might even come close to 15,000 if it maintains its monthly average over the last quarter of 2016.

Mazda2, available in both sedan and hatch, had its best sales performance of the year with 1,445 September sales, Mazda MX-5 had its best September result since 1998, selling 148 units, and 383 New Mazda6s found homes last month. Mazda6 is still Australia's most popular imported medium car under $60,000.

Mazda Australia managing director, Martin Benders said: "We are delighted with the September sales performance of every nameplate in the Mazda range. It is particularly satisfying to see so many records set. While there were some great M Day deals to be had, it is the strength of the Mazda Brand, with superior styling, interior refinement, excellent safety and competitive pricing that makes it one of the most attractive options for new car buyers."

i was just about to post something about Mazda US numbers.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/mazda-...140500122.html

CX- numbers are up. CX-9 numbers up ALOT. CX- numbers are 64% AWD. Why we don't have that as an option for 3 and 6 is anyone's guess. Mazda 3 and 6 numbers are down 5 and 10 percent respectively. MX-5 numbers are down for the month but up 30% for the year. normal for the fall.

Whats really strange is them reporting Mazda 2 and Mazda 5 sales. Thesetwo numbers are of course down nearly 100% for both. This pulls down the entire sales report. without those they'd still be down for the month and year but 2% looks better than 3% and 5% looks better than over 7%. I'm not suggesting they "cook the books" but is there really a need to report those in with the whole mix since they are discontinued? just leave them out fo the calculation but include them in the addendum or highlights- " leftovers of discontinued Mazda 2 and Mazda 5 have sold through inventory" is a good story.

Yeah, CX- numbers are up a lot too in Australia and Europe, I guess all good IF you like SUV's and or have kids...you lucky dudes

More cash for Mazda to build some for the enthusiats.

Come on Mazda, where is......

A Turbo Mazdaspeed (MPS) 6, 3, or even a Miata/MX-5, why not, why not put a de-tuned 2.5T (out of the CX-9) into the ND MX-5....wow that would be interesting.

Come on Mazda you can do it, yes you would have to beef up a lot of parts in ND, suspension brackets, hubs, uprights, wishbones, links, shocks, bearings, brakes, gearbox, diff, axles, bushes.
But it can be done and you can use these parts in any new RWD Rotary..

Come on MAZDA ....where is the speed!..???

no wife
no kids
not a HUGE fan of SUV's but it beats small sedans. Plus, with my height, I just fit better in Crossover / SUV's. I've pretty much at all times owned an SUV for like the last 12 years.

THIS.
the more 3's , 6's, CX's they sell, the better chances we have of getting some fun cars.

all Mazda's bean counters heard from that is $$$$
and I don't mean profits.

So here's my thinking: We know the view of the new bosses. They are not too much wanting to do Mazdaspeed products as it conflicts with the more mature image they are pushing for, however, they have begun offering a level called 'Signature edition' that is the top of the line luxury version. They began with the CX-9. We could (And should) have Mazda 6 Signature edition come with the 2.5 Turbo engine. WIN, WIN, WIN!

Paul.

You could be right Paul...

But SERIOUSLY Mazda must RETHINK their NEW MODEL marketing and packaging strategies.

That is MAZDA...please LISTEN.
1. Start making new models right from the beginning with a performance model option, like a turbo AWD Mazda 3 or 6 or CX-, I don't care, just make it and have it available RIGHT FROM THE START OF A NEW VEHICLE LAUNCH.
2. Why?
3. Clearly you @ Mazda are loosing all the goodwill and momentum you get at a new car launch window.
Every time we see the enthusiastic Journalists which love the car, and review it OK, BUT they want a performance and speed variety too.
4. The old style of launching a performance model or upgrade or limited edition does not wash with the consumer at the end of a model generation, once a buyer knows it only comes with a 2.0l engine and nothing else they walk away, usually forever.
5. Mazda are labelled as "ALL Show and no GO" particularly in the USA.
6. Try it Mazda give us the performance model from the start of it's launch....you can do it, it might just turnaround Mazda's pathetic sales in North America.

Ash: I also have mixed feelings about the RF. When I first saw it, I was like WHOA that's different. And sexy. Kind of like when you see a sexy woman but a girl that isn't your usual type yet you find yourself strangely attracted to her.
know what I mean?

I digress...
So then I got a chance to go to MNAO to see the RF in person and it really is a stunning car. That grey and burgandy color combo; wow!
BUT.....
the more I looked at it, the more I realized it actually looks best with the top UP. which kind of defeats the purpose of a convertible roadster.
Not sure I'd call it ugly but I prefer the soft top in it's natural form; with the top down.

and back to the CX-5
Mazda is posting on Social Media today that it'll be unveiled at the LA Auto Show (which we already knew) BUT what surprised me is that it's a 2017 model.
Last I'd read it was a 2018 that might go on sale at some point next year.

this makes me excited because it means it should hit the show rooms much sooner

I really like how the current CX-5 looks, so they better not mess it up.

Looks like a squished RX-vision. I hope they offer the rotary-hybrid in this CX-5 (wink)

If it borrows some of the new design queues of the CX-9, this thing will be a huge hit. (and one will end up in my garage very quickly)

interesting note at the end of the article:

Mazda will also bring the MX-5 Retractable Fastback to the LA Auto Show, in the event you haven't yet feasted your eyes upon the Miata's coolest hardtop yet. Mazda will also use the LA Auto Show to debut its latest prototype racecar.
(emphasis mine)

Yep, will be the one to get....

Although they are saying all new, I think the platform is still original which is now well sorted, could be wrong, still early days.
