It is a great car compared to its competitors in its price range. Its very roomy, looks decent stock, and has a great interior including a nice stock sound system. My friend just bought one, but I like to go all the way with things, especially with cars. That's why I like the 8. Note: One of the coolest features of the 6 is the front windshield size. It sounds stupid, but if you've ever been in one, it seems like you have a 180 degree view the windshield is so large. I like the car more than I thought I would.

We have one and it's been a great car. Quiet at speed, nice room for 4, decent handling, and good power. We got the automatic which is ok. The autostick is not very good, taking close to 1 second to execute a shift but other than that it's been a very good car.

Go Texas Longhorns!
The 6 is a great car, I owned a V6 5spd prior to my 8, unfortunately I got rear-ended twice, which is why I got rid of the car. The v6 5spd combo is wicked fast, and there is a great ECU/CAI mod that gets you into stock altima territory for like $500. See www.mazda6tech.com.
Car handles great, looks good, rides comfortably and is small despite being midsize, if that makes sense. I took mine out on a track and it really handles like they say it does.
my instructor was really impressed with the car.
if I had to have a mid size sedan, there would be no question which one I would buy

ok so i went and test drove one today. it was fun not as fun as a 8 but it was still a joy to drive. nice pick up and it looks great inside and out. i asked if he has herd of an AWD coming to the US. he said that the 2005 info is out and there will be no changes to the 6 so no AWD. that sucks now just a few months and the 2005 will come out and the 2004 will go down in price. i might just get one.

The V6 gets a 6spd auto for 2005. Side air bags and ABS/TCS become standard equipment on all but the base 4cyl. The manual tranny remains a 5-speed.
I've done quite well autocrossing a Mazda6. Considering I'm a crappy driver, that is. Being that the car is far larger and heavier than the Civics and Coopers it is up against, I think the Mazda6 represents itself really well. It's a mid-size that performs like a compact.
The AWD turbo is scheduled for 2007, so says my source. Other countries will surely get it sooner.
