LS2 Powered HSVs

For all who are unfamiliar with HSV, they are the performance arm of GM Holden.
Both are based here in Australia and are responsible for the US market Pontiac GTO.

Coinciding with the International Motor Show in Sydney, HSV has launched their new Z-series cars powered by the LS2 engine found in the Corvette.

This is unique in that it is the first time where HSV has received a seperate engine from the Holdens of which they are based upon.

Whilst the new VZ Holdens make do with the LS1 V8, HSV now get the LS2, which is quite bizarre since this motor is relatively new even for the US market.

Check out the HSVs here:

I would live anywhere I can find a job. If I found an engineering job in Australia, I would totally be there.

If you liked that, you should check out the HRT 427 :

http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring.../8_10_hol3.htm

They seriously considered building a limited number of road going versions of this at one stage.

Damn, I love the side exhaust on the GTSR.

I have always wanted to go to australia. I dated a chick once who came to my university for a semester from australia. Damn she was hot and that accent, dear lord.......Her parents were loaded too. Too bad she was a psycho. She spoke highly of australia though.

I have always wondered, do australian chicks dig guys with canadian accents as much as canadian guys dig chicks with australian ones?? if so, I am there!! D

Is this different than our 2005 GTO ? It is supposed to have the 400 hp LS2 engine in it at an estimated MSRP of around $34K. This car makes tremendous sense for value. I even like the interior. With the front nostrils now it looks pretty good from the front. The back leaves a little to be desired though. I saw that the 04's are already being discounted for under $29K, but I would want the 05's. It's like a more sedate Corvette with 4 seats at a $20K savings. They already have a supercharger kit for the 04's, I would think one for the 05's will be around soon enough.
