A Long-Forgotten Rotary (Roadpacer)

One of these however, would likely get preferred parking at DGRR!

Who is this idiot reviewing the Roadpacer...

The Holden Premier was no more a 'land barge' than the even larger and heavier American TANKS made in US by GM of the same era...@ 2,000KG

As for the Parkway Bus, the standard engine was a 2700cc 4 cyl Diesel (and later a 3000cc from memory), which was also sold in Australia...it was a great little bus of the time.
Basically a Mazda E or T Series Truck Chassis with a Bus Shell fabricated onto it.

I actually caught a few Roadpacer on the road while in Japan back in the 80's.

Good article. Glad to see they are still making rotary engines. After much thought and deliberation, my intention once my engine goes is to replace it. Considering the fact I live in a smallish city with no rotary engine rebuilders located less than 8 hours away, my intention will be to get a new engine from my local dealership. I was actually thinking about how long Mazda will be making these engines. I was assuming that within 5 years or so there would be virtually no demand for new engines and therefore they would stop production.

Yes Mark...lol..
Well he tried...

But yeah like I said a decade ago that the Rotary as we know it is dead...there will be no RE powered only vehicle when RX-8 ended in 2012.

I am beginning to doubt that we will ever see this 330cc RE Generator as it's release has been delayed for the second time and yeah
it is probably due to chip shortages around the world.

Basically Mazda has said that the new 6 cylinder Skyactiv Engine will be their last ICE engine offered, ever!.
And again this 6 cylinder has taken FOREVER!!! to be released.

MAZDA really is pissing me off they are letting KIA and Hyundai show them up and outselling them here in Australia!.
I would sack every Japan executive who are the decision makers, just pathetic.
Mazda Australia boss is also a goose and useless.

To think Toyo Kogyo Co Ltd was Japans 3rd largest car maker in early 70's, because I again blame
management and their investment in RE and Ford Motor Co who tied both hands behind Mazda's back.

MAZDA IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS.....

I hope we get to see the RE generator, its a really clever idea. Too bad the hydrogen rx8 didn't have the potential to grow though, rip

The hydrogen tech got sold to a major automaker and that saved mazda back then, allowed them to cut ties with ford. Money came pouring in. That's the urban legend at least.
