It's pretty peppy for a 4banger, shifts well and above all, it's really comfy. It handles quite well given its size... I actually had induced oversteer (I was being a little overagressive :D ), but controlled the car pretty easily. I usually get a little ancy with the rear end wagging, but I didn't flinch, and that says a lot I have come to feel that comfortable in the RX-8 now, but the Mazda3 is a great baby brother for that, and given that I get 26mpg (average, with my driving), it's a welcome change as well!
