AU Hyundai Australia drops Sonata (i45)!

Wow...

Hyundai - Hyundai Australia drops i45 sedan | GoAuto

Hyundai Australia spent a fortune on TV Advertising here for this model over past 2.7 years, when I come to think of it I don't see very many on local roads..

But to drop it...wow, they are giving up to Camry and Mazda 6 the top mid size car sellers here.

The i45 (Sonata) was/is plagued with poor driving dynamics (suspension/handling by the press) with the old Mazda 6 just killing it.

I guess it goes to prove yet again that Hyundai/KIA produces cars which look ''good'' but just don't drive like the best in class.

HA are blaming 'supply shortages'...that is just BS.
You do not flog a product on TV and then blame shortages, does not make any sense.

Surprisingly they are outselling everything except Camry's and Accords here in the U.S.. Decent looking cars though.

The quiet giant in the class is actually Nissan Altima presently, which has outsold both Accord and Camry last year, I'm hoping the new 6 will put at least a dent in that category, as it should.

sonata owner here, even mine is a hybrid, suspension stuff are the same and yep, the handling is complete garbage.

when it was still fairly new, i was going thru some winding roads and i was afraid to go faster than 50 cuz its so unstable it almost feels like im gonna do a 360 if i push it faster. its not just the suspension setup thats garbage, tires are garbage too. thats why as soon as i hit 25k i changed the tires with bridgestone newest turanza serenity plus. what a night and day difference,! the handling still sucked but at least i can go faster than 60, jesus

it also shows that americans really cant drive for ****, give them a nice looking junk and they will buy them. cough*apple*cough

it does look good, one of the reason i bought it, plus its a hybrid which is perfect for what i used to do.

but i seriously think in gonna sell it when im back to the states. its really a ticking time bomb(had some random issues with it which never resolved cuz it never threw a code, it just stalls)
