Deal of a lifetime: Dreams become reality!

So....

I've been looking through every possible website, newpaper add ect ect for a used 2005-2008 C6. I came across an add burried on a Craigs List for a 5028 mile...yes... five thousand and twenty eight mile 2006 Vette for sale. I inquired to the seller and found out it was an older lady who had lost her husband and wanted to give the car to a new owner who would enjoy it as much as her husband did.

Here is the kicker....

It was listed as $11,000..... what...the...****....
She had it dropped off at her nearest chevy dealer, they checked it out.
They said it's as clean as if it came off the showroom floor.

I'm driving 380 miles tomarrow to go pick it up. I can't even put to words the fact I found a $40,000+ car for $11,000. I'm sorry to hear about her loss but....jesus H chirst....To top it off the car has a supercharger (dealership said they did the work)and other goodies. She had a build sheet and a dyno sheet. The car is making 648 RWHP <drool> ... i'm just too excited.

Indeed. The dealer said everything was legit. I've done a fair bit of checking and everything seems ok. I'll obviously know more when I get there. Pics coming soon...followed by a new set of rear tires

nice, im always on the look out for a good deal but 99% of the times it has been BS, ive called about $45k 2006 M5 with 11k miles :p etc, usually the answer is "the car is out of the country, I can ship it to you " or "my friend is playing a prank on me, people have been calling me all day, i dont even have a bmw"

congrats to you!

If the lady brought it into the dealership, wouldn't she just trade it in? She would have been offered way more than the $11,000 she has it listed for. The story just doesn't add up...but who am I to jump to conclusions...

This just doesn't add up:

- BoostAddict signs up for the forum this month
- Finds an ad on CG for a Vette that the dealership should have bought the second she took it in for an inspection
- No link provided for CG
- No pics of Vette
- It JUST SO HAPPENS the he ends up in a BOOSTED Vette.

I believe that some one would do that. My best friends cousin died (he was 32), he had a 69 Camaro SS with 32K original miles. The parents sold it to a guy for 5K, they were told they could get at least 30K if not more for it. Their response was that they new how much their son loved that car and they wanted to make sure that the next owner would love it just as much. They just wanted enough money from it to pay for a debt their son had. They actually turned down large offers because they didn't like the people. They finally sold it to a guy that reminded them of their son. To this day that guy calls on X-mass and sends pictures of awards the car has won at shows.

Ill say BS..... It was almost believable then you said the C6 vette was boosted, then the lady has a dyno sheet which has the vette putting down 600+ wheel HP ...WITH JUST A SC? YEAH RIGHT! You should of said a Z-06! Standard vettes come with 400HP, the new ones come with 430HP, you telling me by slapping a SC on standard vette will net you 300+ crank hp?!!!! GET OFF THE CRACK!!

Because in order for a vette to make 640 to the wheels that Vette would have to make at least 750+ HP at the crank.

BS ALL THE WAY!

Actually there is only around 15% drivetrain loss in the C6 vette.

640+15% = 690.

There are many LS2 supercharged vettes that are putting around 600hp to the wheel or more.

Just because it says it's a supercharged engine, doesn't mean thats ALL it has. ECU Tune + Headers + Supercharger + Exhaust + Intake...would get you more than 600RWHP.

He never mentioned the ecu tune, headers, exhaust,intake.... those coupled to a SC, then yes, very much believable. SC alone, hell no! Stock 400HP vettes are cranking out low to mid 300WHP. A lone SC by itself will not net another 300+ WHP! ZR-1 is a Z-06 with a SC, and its not even putting out 600+WHP. And the Z-06 has 75more crank Hp than the current Vette!

THis whole story is BS!

The Automatic LS2's are cranking out low 300's...the manuals are cranking out around 360+rwhp. Also...the ZR-1 is a blown LS3...not LS7 (z06).
