Considering an alternative.

First of all, let me just say that my RX-8 is my dream car. Well, dream car that I can afford.

However, one of my other life-long dreams is to fly a powered paraglider.

So there's 2 main issues keeping me from doing this. One is the money (equipment costs 7 grand minimum), the other is that there's no way it can all fit in my RX8. So as much as it pains me to do so, I'm seriously considering selling my RX8 and getting a Mazda Speed 3, which I think is a fantastic option. All the fun of my RX8, and enough cargo space to carry my paraglider.

Wondering what you guys think?

The Speed3 is a great hot hatch, but I wouldn't say it is "all the fun of my RX8".......since it is wrong wheel drive.

If you don't care about having RWD, then the speed3 is a great car. Be careful with turbo failures on the first gen speed3's though. Also make sure to check the tension on the timing chain if you are considering a first gen.

The Speed 3 may be hotter, but if I move back to a hot hatch, it's gonna be a new GTI. No contest for me.

hmmm.... It's like they're too big to fit in the car and not big enough to justify a trailer. It's basically a really big backpack. What about a roof rack, any decent ones out there?

Grab a 2010-2014 STi hatchback if you can afford it, best of both worlds that way.

I've seen some pictures with roof racks, just never looked into them. You could build or have a trailer built. Building a tiny trailer actually sounds like a fun project, you could use it for tires and stuff too. It's only like $75 to register one permanently here.

If you end up deciding to sell it, let me know and I'll see if we can work something out with those wheels! They're freaking awesome.

lol Thanks Legot. I actually ordered Volk G25s for it which will arrive at the beginning of February. I might be selling those at that time. I'll remember you wanted them. If I have the money I may just buy another vehicle, or I might just get a small trailer like you guys suggested.
