Question Code reader or software????

Guys... I'm planning to buy a code reader or a software to install in my laptop so I can download the problem codes of my 2004 RX-8. I found a lot of handheld models form several manufacturers and also software's that can be installed in you computer and plug it to the SCBD port to review the codes. I'm looking for something that can give me more than a code number.

So, my question is for the code reader or software users.... Any recommendations about.. What would be best, handheld reader or the software? and any suggestion about which model or program will be better? Thanks a lot...

I use dashcommand app, with a plxwifi OBD II dongle. Hook it up to my appradio 2 and I get a ton of live driving parameters plus a code reader. I would recomend looking into it defiantly worth the money so much more than a code reader.

If you have a tablet or smart phone, get a bluetooth dongle and an appropriate ODB2 app. For Android, I use Torque. The paid version is WELL worth the $5.

You want the best.....

Go ETAS ES6515 what Dealers use....or will from 2013, and contrary to 'tech talk' it is backward compatible.

ETAS - ES6515 VCI Flyer - Download Center - ETAS Products
