Citroen RX-8
Okay, I know this is alittle odd but I think the old Citroen DS looks a lot like the RX-8 in the front end...the headlight shape, the big fenders, the sloping hood.
Am I nuts, or do you guys see it too?

yeah, that is really quite an interesting link, being that it is SO closely related. i wonder if this truly could have been a source of inspiration...??
but it's cool, the more you learn about cars, the more you can understand the progression of design, who was influencing who, and why. it really makes the big, important cars more obvious to you whn you can see what the big trend setters were.

Ricer is Nicer.....
Had one.....
One of the advantages of being an old fart....
Had a 1969 DS21, beautiful (mostly aluminum) bodywork, and very much ahead of it's time.
Had a hydro-pneumatic system that ran the whole show, a little foot operated lever could raise the ride height about 10 INCHES! Fun to pull up next to a pickup truck at a light, then as he turned to see you, drop it down again!
Best ride of any car EVER, no contest.
One downside was that the steering, brakes and suspension all worked off the same pump, and if you stalled out, you lost ALL of the above!
There was, seriously, NO brake pedal, just a hydraulic proportioning valve - try pumping that! Stalled on a hill, managed to steer by brute force, no brakes, and the ride height dropped to about an inch....the only options were e-brake and keep twisting the key to get 'er going again!
They don't make 'em like THAT anymore......
