Me likey. My DD would have been a Winning Blue 3 hatchback, but they didn't have one on the lot, and I kinda fell in love with the 6 when I saw it. I think the 2010 3 looks much better than current models. Can't wait to see the finalized looks on the hatch.

% Cyl Turbo is such a great combo. I LOVED my friends old 90 Audi Coupe Quattro 10Ver... That was as funa car to drive in the snow as anything ever invented. 4 wheel controllable drift was just a small jab of the accellerator away. Traction was just a drop of the throttle away with haakapalieta's. It Carved up and down mountain roads.

pretty cool! 5cyl is an interesting touch, I wasn't aware that Ford was using them in the Focus.

This is a European news source so they are talking the European focus, which is a generation ahead of the U.S. version and a better car.
We'll never see that chassis here. this new Mazda3 as well as the next Focus, both European and U.S. , will be on the NEXT generation chassis.
This car will be hot hot hot. I'd like to see that T5 in a Mazdaspeed3 but Ill put my money on a different engine.

Not too bad... looks like a 6 with '09 RX-8 front bumper... not bad at all
Is the new 3 for NA going to be the global model, or is NA going to get a different version like they did for 6?

I thought Ford is currently planning to bring over their Europe's smaller cars, including the Focus, and to retool domestic factories to produce them stateside.
FWIW, the Euro Ford Focus always had class leading chassis dynamics. It is so good that VW supposedly cribbed the Focus' rear suspension blade design for their late GTI MkV. I believe critics consider the Focus C1 chassis to be superior to the current C1 Mazda3 chassis.
IMHO, the late Protege had significantly better driving dynamics than the current Mazda3.
I have confidence that the next Mazda3 will be quite smokin' though.
