hey guys/gals,

does anyone know if there is a free reference guide online dealing with the engine of the '98 626? my girlfriend doesn't trust the place which changes her oil. i was going to start doing the changes myself and wanted to have an idea of what i'm doing first. i found the filter underneath the exhaust manifold and it's pretty tight and reinforces my hatred of front wheel drive cars. (sideways mount engine)

i would appreciate your help.

No offense, but how did you get mixed up into the RX8 board?

none taken. i bought an '04 rx-8 almost two months ago. (velocity red) i know many on this forum own other mazda's and just wanted to utilize this forum's wealth of members with other mazda models.

i know where the oil filter is on this particular model, but was wondering if it's easier to get to it from the top or bottom. (this before i crawl underneath the car)

I'd bet it's the same engine used in 2L Probes and MX6s... www.forums.probetalk.com -

Ahh... If it's the same as the Probe and you don't have enormous arms it's easier to get it from the top. I've had two of those motors.
