The rotary engine concept dates back the 1920s.
So...which one is the cave man one again?

Women doing math? What the hell are you talking about? The RX series was designed around the rotary motor and therefore a rotary should stay in the car in whatever configuration. That is being a purist not a Puritan. So when you hear a loud pop, that is you pulling your head out of your ***.

I on the other hand go in blind and "just do it". in a way I shoot first, shoot again shoot some more and when everybody's dead try to ask some questions it's called having the ***** to get it done.
some rotary drivers are to scared to do, as most have at least $8,000 invested in a discontinued motor huehuehue

here is a rephrase I guess,, I am right and you are wrong because i have actual experience building cars. not reading for days and starting 3 threads on a product then half bolting it on and getting a shop to complete it,,,,,,
this is what I do and i build one car a year drive it, race it and flip it.
i will most likely be keeping the Rx-8. unless i get a trade offer for a skyline r32 or r33.
here is what i do and work with

Ok, question for people that are capable of maintaining a venomous conversation without resorting to being total dicks. Why do people, Joker and LS for example, hate the people that own rotaries?
I can understand why someone can hate an engine or technology (for me it's 3D printing), but that doesn't mean that I have the right to judge someone that enjoys that thing that I happen to dislike. I guess my question is why not just try to understand why people like the other thing, rather than calling them stupid for not liking your thing as much?
In conclusion, Joker is going to need a wheelchair before next summer... Because he's going to cut his legs off... He also enjoys LSs thing.

also how can you hate 3d printing it's great for making a mock prototype model for presentation purposes or actual low stress parts lol a guy made and refined a hi strength ar15 lower receiver via 3d printing there was a whole doom and gloom new story on it

Legot, you see to the true issue here. I think most guys in the car enthusiast world do too. It's the individuals that yell the loudest that make it seem like it isn't really recognized.
Most of us are more than happy to see someone else's passion and pride in a project regardless of how much we dislike the concept, and regardless of how creative, wacky, insane, or even pointless it is.
But there will always be some people that passionately hate something that they don't personally like, and think that everyone else should have the same preferences and likes that they do. Either because they truely don't want to live in a unique world, or because they are trying to appear to be superior by knocking everyone else down lower than they already are.
In Joker's case, it's not that we hate the idea of his swap, we just have little to no respect for his engineering and safety decisions, or his rather weightless justification. I doubt any of us think he would actually come around to doing things properly, but that doesn't stop us ribbing him about it.

Thanks RIWWP, that makes sense. It's just something I've never seen anywhere except in regards to the rotary.
It works for prototyping, but most people never use it correctly. It takes forever, costs allot, creates weak parts, and is all around inefficient. Complex mock ups are the only place it should be used.
Seriously, the printed guns are neat but they don't showcase the technology well at all. Any 4-5 axis CNC mill could have done the same thing, using the exact same files, in less time, cheaper materials, and have a stronger and more accurate end product.

I love the dilution that building something half assed that doesn't run or run well is better than installing quality parts that works, Just because you can, doesn't always mean you should.
Joker, I would love to see a showcase of past cars you have "built" since you do this yearly.
