It's hard to believe what a poor job some people do. It doesn't look fast at all, provably because with all the LIM valves open the engine is basically falling on it's face below 7500 rpm ..... so once again it serves no purpose to hybrid a Renesis relative to a a 13B PP. Longetivity will be less in a hybrid Renesis than a proper 13B PP too .....

Driving my unreliable rx8
Oh crap i didn't realize that was a link. I was just joking. Its not a race class, just fun street class.
Every racer should have that. Heck every prepper also.
Its funny you post that. I have a fuel producer permit from making biodiesel when i was in Louisiana . I also have those exact still plans and the primary water valve thats needed.

Yes the ports are wide open, for now, but the 8 manifold with injection will go on, probably without the valves but there's other way to pick up low torque.
And I'm sure if he wanted it to be "fast" he'd have used something other than a Toyota corona to test it lol.
Get a grip, I guess some people are "doers" and others sit back and "bag".

Oh n yeh the exhaust manifold is ruff as guts, it was only slapped together to see how well the engine runs. Now that he's done that and is happy with it he'll now custom build a much better version.

Speaking of typical forum behavior, same for those who talk something up before it actually accomplishes something. If they are successful I'll be the first to give credit where it's due.
As far as bagging on anyone, there's no shortage of amateur half-cracked garage builds going on here that I could rag on if I chose too. However, this thread would be the place to do it if I understand the intent properly. If you can't handle my honest assessment of the current status then maybe you should have waited. I looked at the idea long and hard for several years and even discussed it in detail with some of the most experienced pro builders around. There are definite reasons why I never pursued it. They've been discussed elsewhere on the forum.
Otherwise If you aren't familiar with my own past fabrication/modification work or ability to do something then the shoe is on the other bagging foot ... I'm simply not interested in doing sloppy, budget engine builds on my own because I instead choose to pay someone with the experience, knowledge, and equipment to do it right in great detail for me instead ...

Veryyyy interestingggg
I guess discussing it for several years qualifies an educated opinion, as opposed to,,,,oh I don't know.... Trying it for yourself!! Bahaha
Anyways, he's no backyard hack, I guess he thought it best not to expend all the finances on something that may not work, or he could've talked about it for several years lol.
On another note, it sounds very much like a j port now

I put my faith in people with more wisdom, experience, and exploratory rotary engine financial expenditure than everyone on this forum put together. Just because there's only been one public showing of a hybrid Renesis (KM/Mazdatrix) doesn't mean it hasn't been done before. I have yet to see one do anything that can justify the cost and/or effort over a proper Renesis or 13B engine build and don't really expect certain people to understand. You'll need to find someone less informed to try and taunt ..
Carry on ....
Carry on ....

Renesis out... REW in
iTrader: (3)
Don't be jealous of my REW bro!
A turdbo renny is crap! Oh wait another for sale thread just posted...
I'm wise enough to not go down that road. I'm sorry your not
My plan was to REW swap a RX-8(we all know there's plenty of blown 8's out there)but then Jim gave me a outstanding deal.
So that's easy math for me.
Almost 4 years later and running 12-16psi, no issues/no regrets!
You can't say the same about your turdbo renny.

Wrong again fruity. I can say the same, it has been a couple of years and I am still on my original build since going turbo. I have no turbo related failures what so ever. If I wanted an REW I would have one.

Now you start with the name calling... That's all you got?
The truth definitely got to you.
And no turbo related failures.... Come on now be honest, tell the whole story!
It's ok, I know you wish you could go REW.... IF you weren't so deep into a turdbo renny hole that you can't get out.

Nothing gets to me, I love this stuff Fruity is a sign of affection.
I am still on my Pineapple engine rebuild from 2011, compression still solid as of a few months ago when I last compression tested it. As for holes, I am not deep in any hole, the car has been paid off for years the mods are paid for, I don't go into debt for any car stuff (hard lesson learned when young), all cash. An REW swap is no biggie, just takes time and money like everything else.

I plan on exploring the boudaries further as to what is possible to do on the Renesis reliably ......... not because i think it's a better engine than the REW but because of the engineering challenge it presents .......... much like doing a swap really .

NOT into dudes... Happily married!
Pineapple rebuild?
So you paid for a rebuild...
Thank you!
I stand correct about what I said earlier.

No different to what I'm running psi/power wise on my Renesis . If you are going REW anything less than 400whp and you have something inferior to a properly done renesis ................ IMO
I plan on exploring the boudaries further as to what is possible to do on the Renesis reliably ......... not because i think it's a better engine than the REW but because of the engineering challenge it presents .......... much like doing a swap really .
