I really think if he's getting his April 26, that is putting a batch in the US right around June 1 - June 15. Right where my dealer said it would be all along.
But that doesn't really account for a week lapse in the production for the holiday.
I just want my car so I can be complete.

If all else fails you could always bribe the guy to stay late that day or whatever, how much are car salesmen paid these days, wouldn't be too expensive methinks.

What...they're on the streets in Japan and we haven't heard from anyone yet?!? We need to get the word out and have these guys (or gals) join the forum!
No updates from my last post - my car is being made today and I should get it the middle of May like Yuhki-san. The Golden Week holiday is next week.
Looks like EAST MOON-san is going to be the winner!
I really want to know how people are driving around in RX-8's right now if that's true. I haven't seen any but then I sit in a concrete box all day. The reason I'm puzzled is I pre-ordered in the very first batch (my name was down before pre-ordering started!) so if anyone gets a car before me they must have a friend in Mazda!
When I get a date &/or VIN from my dealer I'l be sure to post it up. I'll be taking the day off work to pick it up and try to run it in as quickly as possible.
I got an update from my dealer last week.
My car will come on May/19th at the best.
Per my dealer, after my car arrived at mazda logistics in Chiba, they(mazda logistics?) order the optional parts for the car.
He said they could not order and prepare the optional parts beforehand until the car arrvies in Chiba.
So, my car seems to stay in Chiba for a while, waiting for the optional parts.
Anyway, I have to be patient a few more weeks.

Thanks for the update Yuhki but that sounds like a disaster. I've made plans around having the car by May 19 to do the first 1000km driving up to Nigatta! I really hope they find some way of speeding up this Chiba bottleneck. The Chiba people should be busy for me, I ordered: all the mats, scuff plate, body coating, 6 CD (no MD/tape or MP3), the touch-up paint and the baby seat! I need to make my dealer understand that if they don't have the touch-up paint just send me my car anyway!!
Will he tell you when it's at Chiba. The last I heard was my car was going to be made on the 24th but my dealer hasn't confirmed it was and hasn't sent any papers like the shaken to me. He thought I'd have them by the end of the month but now it's a holiday so I guess not.
