Suspension Question

Hi guys,

My suspension seems to be losing its function especially the rear. I can see that the car is sitting very very low when the rear are filled with 2 passengers. And when i go over bump, the rear wheels are hitting the upper inside wall of the wheel well.

My questions, it this instance, is it a shock issue or is it the spring? I'm hoping that i could just change the problem parts as suppose to be swapping out everything. Advise.

Thanks

Sounds like you need new shocks and springs. Also check out your rear sway bar end links. Mine bent and my car was ridding low and dirty.

1. Shocks out. or
2. Spring seats dislocated.

If shocks, you should be able to tell that your ride is bouncy. If its the spring seats, the rear just sounds harsh on uneven surfaces, with lotsa knocking sounds.

Shocks replacement is a must if they're out.
Spring seats replacement is inexpensive.

Hi Mugo,

Thanks very much for the informative reply.

Sounds like its the spring seat dislocated as the way you've described.

Will get it checked. At least I've a slight clue when i talk to the mechanics now.

Thanks a bunch!
