Good idea, since our cars are near registration. I haven't finalised mine yet, but quotes received so far range from about $1,600 to $3,650 (after 50% NCD and 5% offense free). I'm waiting for an insurance broker to call me back and see if they can get more quotes.

What about yours?

with 20%, they quoted me at $2800, covered at 150K, told my agent reduced some insured to 120K as once the car is on the road, they dont care whether it is a type e or s but the market value which will definitely be about 110 to 120K for a second hand type e, they had not got back to me yet, i am also looking to insure for 3rd party fire & theft, will consider that if premium differnce is 1 to 2K

Which insurance company was that from? The lowest I got was from India Int'l at about $1,600, which is pretty close to yours.

Well, AXA quoted $3600+ AFTER 50% + 5%...

Waiting for another one to give an official quote.

A lot of them flatly refuse to insure sports cars, despite me telling them that its a 4 door 1.3 litre Mazda...

I got the strakes at the selling price per the accessories catalog from Mazda - can't remember the exact amount, but you can find the price in the RX-8 Japan website.

Thinking of DIY as it looks fairly simple to fit on.

I did get the strakes from Garage R - its just that they came much earlier, so Garage R passed them to me to drool over first while I waited for my car...:D

Aftermarket parts - I just saw the HKS suspension on Saturday...2 cm drop in ride height, but dunno how harsh will the ride be. I'm waiting for someone else to try first, then consider! :D I believe they also have the HKS exhaust on order, but this is not in yet.

I think the price is about $300 for a set. This is the same price as the Mazda Japan website - 22,000 yen. A bit expensive but couldn't resist...:D

Hi, welcome to the forum. There has been numerous threads on the drinking capacity of the renesis engine. Do a search and you shld be able to find.

Anyhow, its ok for the kind of power and performance the car is giving - just don;t expect a normal 1.3 litre type of consumption!
No first hand experience yet - getting my car tomorrow! :D

Colour - see my sig.

Are you getting the 8 as well?

Fab 8 - looks like yours the first to be on the road then bro, congrats!!! I have to wait till Friday

Crysta - Fuel consumption on a rotary basically depends on how u drive the car, if u keep below 3500, consumption should be ok, the car drinks when u open up the car and redline it often, but saying that, it is often normally advise by people who had driven rotary a long time that the car need to be redline once a while (more often than normal piston driven) to keep engine in good cond..
