just feel the fan kick in earlier and stays on for a shorter period when u turn off the engine.
incidentally, just recently switched from shell 98 to shell 95... SAME FC eh! no diff! hehe.

Just 2 week old 6AT with stock 16" rims doing about 7.2. Hopefully gets better after my oil change and run in in 2-3 weeks time..... but guess 2 things gonna happen after run-in that's gonna add to the FC
1) gonna be more and more tempted to be...."heavy footed".... haha
2) very tempted to get 18" rims that's probably gonna to poorer FC
Well.... keepya posted then

1. I only managed bout 300kms per full tank in my previous Rx7 Fd3s with minor mods.....which quickly turned to bout 230kms with a few more serious mods.......
2. Why would u wanna put a Renesis engine in an Rx7 anywayz........ I don't see y it wouldn't fit BUT...... Most street comp Rx8's are running FD engines...... Even the DRIFT Rx8's are mostly running FD RE engines.........

Mine is 4AT... 2 yr old...
Shell 98... usually pump 50 litres...
Driving style is usually 2.5k to 3k rpm at about 90-110kmph, mostly in auto-mode
70% urban (lots of start-stop), 30% highway
70% aircon on, 30% off (set to 24 degrees, fan speed 1 or 2)
Using Idemitsu synthetic engine oil
Warm-up of 2-3 mins before driving off.
Tires: 18" rims, Bodykit: Veilside 1 kit with Mazdaspeed spoiler
Mileage - 350-360km per full tank, or 3.6-3.8km/l

6MT will have better consumption.
Good days i get 430-440km per full tank
Not so good days i get 370-380km per full tank.
Up to your driving habits larh.
Also depends on your mods and ecu recalibratioin.

this car needs to redline every now and then......routine maintenance! and you can forget about good FC for driving rx8.

so far for me (km/l):
8.7, 9.2, 8.5, 8.2, 7.8, 8.1...
Rev to 6-7k twice per trip (until I hit 3000km, when I will rev to limit). I'm using a combination of break-in methods from the FAQ.
CoupeM is right... revving high vs low, not very much difference in FC. I find the biggest non-driver factor is start-stop traffic.
Simple physics. Kinetic energy lost via braking is wasted energy, and has to be recouped via converting more chemical energy back to kinetic energy. 1st law of thermodynamics. The more you have to brake unnecessarily, the more fuel you will have to burn later.

I think better rev while in gear, otherwise the lack of airflow might not be good for the heat situation. No need to sustain redline, just hit it can liao...naturally, like in normal driving. Stay on a low gear longer in order to hit it, otherwise matah will come and say hello to borrow your licence..

how does a car move on neutral??
#123
actually our fuel consumption veri good oredi.
if you drive the bugatti veyron, when u turn the 2nd key and hit 407km/hr,
the 100 litre fuel in the tank get sucked in 12 minutes!
