Fantasy Drive: F1 vrs WRC

Which would you rather drive in? F1 or in the WRC and why?

Me personally, I love WRC. Watching the on-board camera shots are enuf to temporily shrink a couple of my vital body parts everytime. I just can't imagine driving at those speeds and doing 10 other things the same time -- true multi-taskers.

I love both. They are both vastly different. F1 is full tarmac and WRC is mixture of all terrains.

F1 is more refined and high tech. Its all about pure driving. I love their advanced technology.

WRC is rougher, against the elements; and yes multitasking. And moreover they are all based on real world road cars.

wrc,
at least i could feel the limits... not that i could get to them, but f1... i am sure that i would never get near 60% of what the car would do....

and that is a strech... with the wrc cars i am sure i could slide them a bit... not well, but good enough to make me feel better...

i love f1, but in the real world what is the point...

beers

I luv my F1, but that was in the past in the 80's and early 90's, current F1 is no longer as challenging or interesting anymore in my opinion.

It has just become too commercialised, and with Birdhead Bernie only supporting Ferrari in every aspect, then not worth the watching no more. "What Ferrari wants, what Ferrari gets", that moron assumes people who watches F1 only cares about Ferraris........

WRC is great as well, and I agree more down to earth in comparison to a normal human being and to what we actually drive.

A couple of years ago, they did compare a WRC and F1 driver, in comparison to their skills, and made them swap cars for the experiment. In comparison to timing and reflexes, the WRC driver lose out only alittle in timing but reflexes is like 50% higher than that of a F1 driver.

The F1 driver in the rally car, in timing lost out big time and reflexes were down as well.

But both form of races do have their pros and cons as well I guess

Personally, would prefer the Japanese super GT 500...all the dream japanese machines on track hunting each other down....

but I guess if the comparison is only based on this 2 races, my choice would be the WRC...seems more exciting plus the F1 lost
most of its charm over the years I think due to being too commercialize?

Rei: I can see the appeal of the GT500 -- nice looking birds.

F1 and WRC are two vastly different motor sport. Its almost comparing between golf and soccer. Both use ball but differently.

F1 drivers will not need the reflex of a WRC driver but will have to be fitter and have better concentration. Why fitter? Turning the steering of a F1 car is about 15kg either way (around there). Any go-kart driver will know its really hard to turn the steering; multply that by the same multiple of HP a F1 has and you will get my point.

And F1 drivers cannot be heavier than 80kg. 80kg is about 14% of a F1's 600kg weight. And it affects all factor of the race car. Plus a fat or bulky driver will not fit in the cockpit.
