Smile Standard Boot Spoiler!

Dear All,

I was cruising the all new RX8 site and found the following statement on several pages.

Quote

"To improve Fuel Economy all European Mazda RX8 models will be
fitted with a small boot lip spoiler. This is not an option."

Unquote

Well, Well what do you think?

I'm happy if its the one here.

Cheers
Oilman

Yeah, I saw that too, at the bottom of the page in faint letters.

Suppose it could be the same as the one in the picture. Never really noticed that spoiler before

Not really bothered either way.

One thing does confuse me though. How does a rear wing help fuel consumption? I would have thought it would make it worse, what with the increase in drag and all.

Still I am sure there is a logical explaination for this.

PS People got to stop showing me pictures of the car in blue. It looks so good I am not sure about going for grey or waiting for the blue! This is not fair! :D

spoiler could possibly help the airflow to be smoother, meaning less turblent air and decrease in the Cd of the vehicle. Im very rusty on all this, seeing as i havent had the need to use this knowledge in over 8 months

Boot spolier eh, sounds good and looks pretty good as well.

Are we going to get clear lenses though on the indicators, we don't need our sides, lit all the time like in the US. Anybody know

Things are getting good

I don't know about any other colour, but according to my dealer the grey will have orange side repeaters.

May have to get these replaced with the white repeaters. I'm sure someone will produce white repeaters, even if Mazda do not.

Looks like some Tit Greys have clear, which country and spec will we ever know. maybe Mazda will just keep them on the floor and pick up which one they think at any particular time!!

A friend of mine had a new Seat Cupra with one clear on one side and an orange repeater on the other, don't know what that was all about.

I do't think I'll care when it comes anyway:D

Im sure I read a post somewhere that said Euro spec was getting clear indicators, but cant seem to find it now.

I prefer clear as well and may change them if they are orange.
