I live in NJ but while visiting family back in Romania, I've see a red one and a silver one on the road. Do you guys get the dealer to prep them? My bro claims so but could not say what preps are available...
The only problem I see is the price of gas when you probably have 15L/100km consumption (I do on my AT, at least, but gas is 3-4 times cheaper in US).

Well u realize that u rx-8 is not a car u buy with gas mileage in mind i mean it's a sports coupe! it's supposed 2 be fun and not a daily vehicle (although it works just fine) What do you mean about preped by the dealer?? If you could be a little more specific perhaps i can answer your question... :D perhaps

Well, he was talking in general about the cars being preped, thinking turboed or chipped. Is this the case? At least Greddy turbos are out but I doubt a dealer would prep a car with it, and include a warranty. As for chips, I know of none for RX8 yet... So what preps a dealer can make? Maybe tint job and MS suspensions, plus a body kit? Though the 2 cars I've seen were base models, no appearance package on them.
As for gas consuption, yes, nobody expects it to compare to usual EU cars as the engine delivers 200-250HP... though a diesel rotary engine would halve the gas consuption and deliver more torque :o)

sounds like an uphill struggle to do anything significant on the car in Romania....
Sure, send me the link, I'm curious to see what people are running there....
I'm not really racing, just autoX few times a year. my car is mostly stock

Weeeeeel...it's not reeeeeally and uphill struggle. You just have to know the right ppl in the right place, if you know what i mean :D Plus ppl here find if really useless to mod their cars considering what shape the streets are in! I shudder to think how i would drive if i lowered my car ! But really now...if there's a will there's a way and ppl do mod their cars Check these (the best ones are sponsored by romanian tuning comp. and the others are individuals) www.insomniaracing.org

HI gUYS,
I am romanian (born and raised in Bucuresti), Canadian Citizen and living in USA.
I have a NEW RX8. So leaving Romania it was god for me.
For Romanian roads will be a BIG bad mistake this car.

Hello everyone,
I'm very sorry to thread pirate, but this seems to be the only Romanian thread on the forum.
My family is from Romania and I speak absolutely terrible Romanian. (When we visited every time I opened my mouth everyone started grinning. But most of the time I was able to make myself understood.)
So, would you guys mind checking this thread out, watch the funny yet painful video, and give a better translation then the one I gave?

When I visited Bucharest I thought it had a lot wonderful architecture and art. I've been to France and England quite a few times and a few other countries once or twice. Hell, spent the latter half of my child hood in NYC. So, please trust me when I say you live in a beautiful city.
The bullet holes, burn marks, and a couple of burnt out builds gave it a different twist too. :P
And you have some crazy drivers. Man, never before have a seen a car chase with only one car involved. I'm not talking about just whipping in and out of lanes, I'm talking about diving between metal lamp posts to go through oncoming traffic before slipping between them again to avoid oncoming cars.

Hello,
Im from Norway.
I just visited Romania in November (brrr it was cold hehe), but it was a nice country. I got to visit Dracula
But damn, the roads man....they are like the worst ive ever driven on! Took a flight to Bucharest and drove up to Cluj Napoca, (which was an interesting 13hr taxi drive) I just cant imagine driving an lowered 8 on those roads, even worse if u put a bodykit on...how long would that last heh?
