leasing RX8 in the UK

Hiya,

I want to lease an RX-8 , probably 192ps as my budget is £300 a month. I've checked out a few web sites to get the best price, and the cheapest i found is £281 a month, 15,000 miles a year.

Two things,

1) Does someone know of anywhere that could give me a cheaper price?

2) My credit rating is not the best in the world having run into debt in the past. Although this is now paid off, and my income would easily cover the cost I might have difficulty getting credit from those automated scores. So does anyone know of companies that lease for people with low credit rating as well? I expect I'll have to pay a lot more one these companies though.

Thanks in advance

Mine is costing £199/month, but 10Kpa and £1000 deposit. Equivalent to £217/month 3_23. Leasing Options are providing it, ask for Rob (google for their details, I don't have the number to hand but they have a website). That's ex VAT of course.

Did you get anywhere? My RX is apparently ready to go, I'm just waiting for my Beetle's contract to finish. The dealer these cars are coming from is apparently one of the first in the UK to get Galaxy Grey cars.

I also noticed my pence-per-mile for going over the contract is only 5p. Usually the difference in mileage on a contract is pretty close (last time it was identical - so I figured I would be better to go for the lower figure/lower monthly payment, and then pay for miles I did over, instead of paying for miles I ended up not using).

It's worse, knowing the car is PDI'd, registered and ready to go and having to wait

Hi m8,

I' got in touch with them, and got a quote of nearly £270 a month for the RX8 over 2 years, 15,000 miles a year, which is pretty good! Just been for a test drive at a Mazda dealership today, bit cheeky but didnt know how else to get a spin before leasing . I loved it !

Just going to do the maths this week, and hopefully put deposit down by the end of the month and get the credit approved. Only thing is he told me they only got silver and red left, and I was after "winning blue" . I think i'll be going for silver though.

Only found Norwich Union who would insure me, and thats gonna cost £860 a year, which is not bad I guess. Im 22 with 4 years no claims. No one else would insure me until I was 25 !!

So yeah, all good ! Just like you cant wait! Dont think ill sleep for a few weeks now !

Just working out that 5p extra per mile ur over annual mileage limit as u said, and it works out cheaper to get a lease of 10,000 and pay 5p extra per mile (say i did 5,000) than have a lease on 15,000 miles.

I've never leased a car before, you seem to have one going at the moment...... If you go over your annual mileage do they ONLY charge you that 5p per mile?? or they do add some other costs because you've gone over (like a penalty)?

As far as I am aware, they charge you the excess mileage - that's it.

What colour are you going to get? I don't know what they'll have left, I know they had Winning Blue, 1 Strato Blue, Velocity Red and Galaxy Grey (my colour). (Edit - Ah, I see you've covered that. Hope you can get it done in time!).

Not even Direct Line? Mine's £470 with business use/contract hired loadings and full NCB. They have never seemed fussy about under 25 to me, only over 21 (over 25 you get third-party extension to legally drive other people's cars).

They've only got silver and red left now, so I've been looking at other places cos I really wanted the blue. Found another place with the blue available for £256 a month and 3 payments upfront as initial payment. So it works out around £300 cheaper over the whole lease than Leasing Options, so I might just try with them.

Direct Line told me they wont insure anyone under 25. Tesco insurance was no one under 23, and then I tried Elephant who said it was £2300 a year :P .

I'll be able to get a new quote now with 10,000 miles a year so will be a little cheaper I reckon. Let you know how it goes , and what I do etc.

Well, the 3 payment starter is better for sure - hope you get a good experience, I've been very happy with Leasing Options.

Today I got to talk to the dealer with my car, and collecting it myself won't cost me anything so I'm probably going to do that, but FWIW, had I asked for delivery it would have been delivered on a trailer.

So now I know registration number and everything, and they sound like a great dealer that is providing the car. 300 miles is a long way to drive for a service mind; the fuel costs would be as much as the local Mazda dealer charges for it!

I'm happy with grey, but I think the Winning Blue is a good, striking colour. I can't have it, I crash cars that colour. Plus, I'm kinda glad it wasn't me that took the Winning Blue one if you had gone with them

LOL at crashing blue coloured cars :P !

Gathered my pay slips, identification etc. tonight and sending it to Leasing Options tomorrow. Hopefully get the credit sorted. I got my credit report over the weekend, and there's an account on it which says I was 3 payments late for around a year !! So I've been in touch with equifax and experian and they looking into it. Got the letters from the bank to say the account was closed at the time in suppose to have been 3 payments late :o ! Every other account is spot on, so ... im crossing fingers, toes and everything else thats possible

Glad you got yours sorted! Gonna be lots of sleepless nights for you now . Do you get to choose which dealer your car is delivered to? and which dealer you get service at?? 300 miles seems very far !! Then again, not many Mazda dealers I can think of in this country, especially wales!

How did you get on?

My car came from Robinson's Mazda in Leicester - they would have delivered it, but I wanted to run it in myself - so I took the train down and drove it back. It is fantastic - I think they're amazing cars. I got 27mpg on the first run, too.

For servicing, I take it to the nearest dealer.

Hope you got one, anyway!
