I'm coming down from the Philly area.

What days do you guys usually take off from work on? I'm planning on the whole week from the 15th to the 19th but I may need to take off on the 22nd to get home. How do these things usually go from those who've been?

The dedicated arrive Thursday. I usually get there in the afternoon. Everyone's gone by Sunday afternoon typically.

Very true. Late nights and weekdays are usually the best.

I need to make it a point to talk to more people this year. I'm usually a bit of a wallflower. I walk around and stare are the cars but don't say much.

Thanks for the info. I think we will be going with a caravan on Thrusday also, but I got another question now. After I register will I get an option to pay for rooms?

Thanks.

you did, and my wife backed a lot of cookies and stuff that year... lol she might bake a bunch of stuff again this year. This is the first year there wont be a middle tennessee party cabin up on the hill... kinda sad. I did snag a 1 room cabin up there though. I say that, but I'm sure Holly's cabin and TitaniumTTs cabin will be partying all night up there.

No. You have to arrange that on your own. The discount code is only available at the lodge, but it's full as of this time. There are hotels in Bryson City which is about 7 miles down the road.

We chatted a bit last year. I drive a BB RX8 - the one with the unusual bronze Volk wheels.

That's cool. I'm sure I'd recognize you if I saw you etc.

God I have too much to do to my car before the trip. I bet I'm going to be stuck spending $2000 more on the car than I care to... Half the cost of my RX7 engine... Yay for setbacks...

Yeah, that's fun, but hard to do.

I'm going to see if I can find a place doing one-off basesball hats that would put my screen name on it. That would make it easier to type and cross match with others, I think.

However, I'll reserve the right to take it off while doing something stupid.

Cheers!

^ Might help, but you'd need to issue a large-print version for me to see them.

I just booked a 4 bedroom cabin at Fontana Village from April 13 - 21. That was their only 4 bed, all the 3bedrooms are reserved for the DGRR weekend and they had one 2 bedroom available. They also still have a few rooms left at the lodge and I think a couple 1 bedroom cabins.

You do know that the event isn't at Fontana right? Fontana is like 30+ min away. We're at Nantahala Village in Bryson City.

On a side note, I'm surprised more people don't come to this event. I'd love to see 500+ people one year. Most I can remember is about 350.

Yeah I know. I've been down to the gap 5 times and we always stay at Fontana. Plus there's 6 of us staying at the cabin and Nantahala was full. Besides driving 30 minutes on those roads is awesome.
