Winter packages @ dealership

Anyone remember prices for winter tire+rim packages from Mazda dealerships in the past? My dealer told me they will start selling winter packages in October. I just want to get a head start in doing my homework so I know where to find the best deals. The weather is so nice now I feel like I'm spoiling things by mentioning the word "winter" :p

My "choice" right now is to get 17" steel rims + Hancook Icebears. Yeah steel rims look ugly but hey, the car is leased so I don't want to throw too much money into it (at least not yet )

It would be nice to know where you are so we could comment specificly.

Myself, I bought my tires from a heavy industrial truck tire outfir...they do semi-trucks. They don't usually sell to the public so they don't mark up the tires like your typical retail store does. The next cheapest quote I got wa from the tire Rack and they were still a good 15% higher.

Last year I paid about 1300 total for 17" 5 spoke rims and Hankook IceBears.

I seem to remember the dealership selling the tires and steelies for about 1400. I think KHTM was the one that started the thread last year. Let me check for you.

EDIT: Found the thread
I was right! Was about 1400 for steelies and tires. Definitely the steelies make the 8 look angry!

I got a really nice set of rims and tires from Dave Wood Mazda in Newmarket last year.

The package was $1499 plus tax and included Blizzak WS-50 tires on 17" gun-metal rims. I'll attach the picture...

I priced the same tires with steel rims and it was only $300-$400 more for the nice rims :D

They look especially great on the VR cars

I could only find a pic of the rims in silver.....the dark gun-metal (gray) look much better.
