What did you pay for your body? Where?
We all can pretty much agree that the world loves to screw with our money. We pay double the shipping, double the MSRP and enormous fees and taxes on pretty much anything in Canada. (BEER is the worst!)
I've been comparing a bunch of prices for some different front bumpers, and sides from INGS, MAZDASPEED, AUTOBAHN and MINT BLUE. Finally after gathering an assortment of info and relative prices I was curious what the dealership would want for a MAZDASPEED kit.
O i forgot to mention that I love how crappy the american - Canadian exchange is.. I can drive under an hour and get to buffalo where all the American prices crush all of ours.
Then I wondered why so many Canadians leave there cars bone stock... I figured out the mystery.
Its actually always cheaper to go to the states no matter the hassel. A Mazda speed body kit, I got quoted at:
$2,326 FRONT BUMPER
$1,172 SIDE SKIRTS
$1,154 REAR UNDER
$1,386 SPOILER
TOTALLING = ROUGHLY $6,000 without tax (WHY GET A KIT YOU COULD GET LIKE A SUZUKI GSX-R IN GREAT CONDITION FOR THAT KINDA MONEY)
So i kinda realized either I can go to the states get the front bumber for 1200 American pay the exchange rate at the current time which is terrible 1USD = 1.28 CAN and still save a minimum of 500 dollars on ONE PIECE. not to mention..
IF I HAD PURCHASED THE KIT LAST JULY / AUG.... WHEN I GOT MY CAR FROM THE US I WOULD HAVE PAID... UM.. 1200 CANADIAN SAVING A WOPING 1,100 JUST ON THE FRONT!!
DAMN.. is this frustrating for anyone else?

Thats exactly what I'm leaning towards now. I just wanted to see what Canadians chose to do because there are so many Mazda speed owners. It has to be a little tempting to drive south and save.
