Trick to scraping Ice off the rear lights?

The rear brake lights had a thick layer of ice/frost on the rear brake lights this morning. The temperature outside is around -5 C.

I wanted to know if there is a trick to scraping off ice on the rear brake lights because it's housed in that nice clear plastic.

Is it safe to use a ice scraper on it without scratching it up? Is there a better way to do it?

..I just left it alone this morning, I dunno, maybe I'm just paronoid.

Paranoid.

Just leave it alone. It'll still shine red through the ice. Start scraping it and I'm sure you'll crack it or chip some paint around it.
