Tire pressure monitoring system
After reading my novel-like owners manual, I cant determine whether or not my car has the above mentioned system...I thought I read here somewhere that the Canadian models didnt have this, just the US ones...any insight?
Thanks

I'm not sure how complex the wiring is for the gauge cluster, but my guess is to snip the wire that controls that low pressure light, or just place a piece of electrical tape on the plastic lens to cover it.

it's a CAN bus system. meaning the TPMS sends out road speed, tire pressure, and temperature signals to the TPMS control module via RF signals. the control module communicates with the PCM (i'm guessing a light will go off if it doesn't see a wheel speed signal from either the TPMS unit or the actual wheel speed sensors themselves). and finally, the instrument cluster. all three (the TPMS unit, PCM, and instrument cluster) are all connected through the CAN bus. messing with any of these will result in some sort of MIL.
so the entire thing is monitored...even the light (assuming by the looks of the wire schematic) i don't know what exactly will happen if you cut the light wire, but i'm not about to hack away. the sticker thing is a little ghetto fabulous for me.
anyone want to correct me or give me their ideas??
