Thermal (heat) Damage Recall

We have the information on affected vehicles, but no parts as of yet. Wait until you receive your recall notice from Mazda Canada BEFORE you contact your dealer. The affected cars are as follows:

Group 1: All 2004 RX-8 2005 RX-8 built before Dec 20/2004
Group 2: 2005 RX-8 built between March 22/05 and July 7, 2005.

There were no North American RX-8 built between Dec 20/04 and March 22/05!

Each group needs different things done as part of the recall and your dealer will know which group your car falls into.

Again, please wait until you get your notice from Mazda Canada before you contact your dealer!

Group 1 here as well. Not too excited about the recall. I wonder what else will be in that notice sent to me. Hopefully, they forgot to install a twin turbo on my car and want to do it now for free

i'm not to worried about the recall. i'm sure if there is an problem they'll fix it... If it doesn't affect the performance i have no issues with it.

I just hope they give me a rental! i didn't pay for that extra warrenty for nothing!

Thanks #84Racing! I'm in group 1. Unfortuantely I need to bring the car in for the 16000k, so I may have to go twice...argh...two days without my car...sad times.

redlining has nothing to do with the issue in this recall. actually its the exact opposite .

Went to the dealer today...and they actually knew about the recalls :D

They thought the parts would be in for the suspension recall in about two weeks.

really? that's good to hear back to redlining once a day!!

Shamble,

It's two recalls, one for a ball joint, other for heat issues. We just have to wait for the letter from Mazda.

Sham, as far as I understand, there are two parts to the recall. The first has something to do with the over heating of the exhaust or something along those lines and the second has to do with the front suspention and axel's. At least this was the issue in Greece two weeks ago when the recalled every RX-8.

Thanks Helas. But I don't beleive that you were thorough enough on getting the scoop on the RX8's in Greece while you were there. So I have to go myself and check it out. J/K

That's why I want to make sure you will be at the mini meet on Thursday so you can let me know more about Athens before I go next month. Spending 5 days there. We'll talk on Thursday night.

Canada's a little bit behind (keep the snide comments to yourself ) I was curious to know if any Canadians had received the recall letter yet.

Its a bit frustrating

Given that the recall was out into MNAO while my car was still on the boat from Japan, but there's no campaign sticker on my car... so I still have to go get the recall done when i get the letter. sheesh.

Why is Mazda Canada over a month slow?
