Parking is stupid expensive at York, more traffic too now on campus, and ticketing has gone up.

^-- when are you planning on getting it?

btw 1100 is quite pricey!! is that for year round? (12months)? at UT downtown it's 882 for fall and winter semester, so sept-apr...regardless of outdoors or indoors...which is like WAYY more than double/triple the prices at McMaster and some other universities

yeah well... when you have to pay an additional 30k for a parking space down there when you are buying a condo... 900 doesn't seem so bad...

Paying 1100 for indoor parking is not the smartest idea. Do you really need indoor parking? It's not like its heated, just sheltered from snow. Plus how often are you are York? I did outdoor parking the first year, but then after that you network and find out how to really park at York. Before they started to really enforce the rules for Ticketing by Toronto, most people just parked off campus, and would fight the tickets. Now most people change their address, since if the vehicle is in your parents name, its not like their attending York. As long as they have proof, which is with address that you don't live with your parents, you can rack up all the tickets you want, and they can't hold your transcript. It's not like your parents are attending York. Before that, the other trick that people used to do for indoor parking, is that they were automated for pay and park. So when you ready to leave, you just insert a gift card from Futureshop at the time, Best Buy don;t work, cause they had that stupid design. And the machine would attempt to charge the gift card and let you out. They worked cause they were printed by AMEX, and read as credit cards. So you load up a penny, or even if it's empty it worked. Was good for a while, like years, but they caught on now. With the price of fuel, the douchebags on campus, and the increase in traffic at York, not worth driving.

Use the money, and get yourself something to entertain you on the GO Bus commutes, like an iPhone and a Slingbox.

i did NOT realize york had such fun roads to drift on! well granted i was doing power slides and side slides instead of drifting since you can't do much with an FR with traction control that can't be turned off (i was driving my brother's hybrid camry) but the road that goes around the campus (don't know what it's called, but it goes from steeles around the west and south ends of campus and ends on keele) has so many small twists and turns that you can do so much fun stuff on!! haha well i was just there dropping a friend off, but i guess you don't get that everyday, it's probably filled with cars during the day and not enough snow to be able to do this easily
