QC new member from Montreal here

I went to the Mazda dealer with the intention of looking at an MS3 but wound up falling in love with a white R3 they had sitting in the back. I bought it the next day an I am taking delivery of it next monday! This is going to be quite a change from the civic that I am currently driving! Anyways, I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

ps any other people from Montreal here?

1st......congrats and I do mean that.

2nd.......Do us all a huge favor....and yourself.
Please at least read the manual. Then come here and read the stickies, they are a wealth of knowledge.

3rd............don't ever post about what kind of oil you should use.

4th...........Search.............used advanced search, it works better. At least make an attempt before starting another thread.

5th....report back after getting the car on how long it takes to wipe the ridiculous smile off your face.

6th...........since you have time before you get it, you should start reading now.

Welcome to the addiction!

thank you very much, Mazurfer. I asked about the maintenance to my salesman and he reassured me that I would be explained everything on delivery day. I've been reading these forums for a while now and I have a good idea already on what to do (don't worry, I'm not going to make a million threads on questions that have been answered before). If there's anything I can always ask my friend who owns a 04 GT. Can't wait till monday. :D

Dude! That's pretty bad mileage on the civic! Should at least pull 550 or so..

With the 8, I get max 400 if I'm lucky, but so worth it!

definitely read up on the stickies on the forums on owning the 8. answers a ton of questions.

Yeah, I know but I do around 70% city driving. If I get 400 with my 8, I'll be pretty happy lol. Are you getting that with mostly highway?

That should be interesting! Since you've read some on here, then it will be funny what all he tells you(or doesn't tell you!).
Maybe you should quiz him?

Yeah, good point I wonder what they're going to tell me. If theres a discrepancy with what they tell me and what I read here, I think I'll take the word of the actual owners.

Ask him how many cylinders it has! J/K
Just listen to what he says and then double-check it here if it sounds wrong.
We kid around a lot and can be obnoxious, but as a rule, we won't flat out lie to ya.

Make sure you go to a local meet. I know there are some in Montreal.
Great way to meet people and share knowledge/help!

welcome to the forum! and as previously stated, there may be lots of vital things for your car that you won't be told by a "mazda" mechanic. So always check back here if you want the car to last you well! and check out the meets in your area, It's easier than using the search for info lol.

sure the MS may be nice, but round a track, you won't feel the zoom zoom zoom you do with an 8.
