Need some help with something.
No idea what to say than why is there oil in the airbox?
On my way back from class I was driving a bit spirited up on of the hill in the city. It's shut down to only one way around the rush hour times so it becomes a bit of a racetrack up the side of the mountain.
I was a bit carried away, left the car in 3nd at about 80-90 for the minute or so up the road. Got home about 3 minutes later and decided to top up the oil.
I'll post pics in a few minutes.

This is common for this car. Someone over filled the oil in the oil neck the last time or couple times you got an oil change. There is hose that goes from the oil neck into the accordion tube right above the MAF. I would recommend cleaning all of the oil out of the Airbox and Accordion Tube and also cleaning the MAF. Then buy an oil catch can.

hey SAnguine: don't panic it's a bit normal for our cars to do that.
One common culprit is how the oil is poured into the car. If you're not using a small funnel, I"d recommend it because otherwise it can go down the tube above the maf.
Some people install catch cans to help with this.

I hear that this was fairly normal in the rx8 but thats a lot of oil. In my 8 the person who i bought it from had a oil relocation line and filter installed that keeps the car from doing that but i could be wrong because i never installed it. Also nice air filter ive got the same one.

Like others have said, it's normal and guess some 8s do it more than others. It does look like a bit much tho! Oil Catch can to stop that.
And FYI - noticed your tubes to your intake aren't clamped. I would recommend buying some small clamps to tighten those down as an extra precaution. Cost like $3 and a 2 min job.

1 I think, was on it when I bought the car. Cleaning it is easy enough.
