Need oil filter receipts... might need new engine (Edmonton)

Just did a compression test and got around 90 PSI on both sides. I believe the minimum is 98 PSI. I have approximately 90k/2004.

How do I go about bringing this up with Mazda? Which Mazda dealership in Edmonton would you recommend?

Up to 60 k I have oil receipts from the last owner but there are two or three missing. Another thing is the fact that I did occasionally use synthetic oil during the winter months. Will these be grounds for dismissing an engine replacement?

Any diy'ers with oil and filter receipts from stores within Edmonton/Calgary that I could copy?

No where does Mazda strictly forbid synthetic oil.

It's more or less up to the dealer if they want to make an issue of the oil changes.

It has nothing to do with what the dealer wants. If Mazda approves the claim the dealer gets paid. If Mazda asks for the documentation and the customer cannot provide it to the dealership then the claim will get rejected. Using synthetic oil will not help your cause, as it is not a recommended or an approved oil from Mazda. After 22 years with Mazda at a dealership level (yes Im glad to be out lol), Mazda is looking for ways to say no, at least they were back in November when I left. If you can provide a proper maintenance history, and a dealer deems the compression low im sure you will get an engine.

I didn't realize dealers submitted receipts, etc. to the manufacturer. On the same token I can't recall being involved the a warranty engine replacement (Ford too reliable? ).

I double checked the owners manual and I didn't see anything about synthetic. I says the oil needs to have the petroleum institute certification, etc.

Was driving it pretty hard for the last week and everything felt fine. Still warmed up the engine before redlining but drove hard once warmed up.

Parked it after a hard drive and when I tried restarting it, it would barely idle and I could hear the rotors spinning/struggling to turn. I drove it 20km like that to the closest Mazda dealership and it felt like I was driving with half the normal amount of power, P0302 light kept flashing, tons of rumbling and vibration under the hood.

Techs at the dealership are still diagnosing it, ill keep everyone updated.

Wishing myself luck right about now.

Could just be a fouled plug, if your prayers are answered.....

What dates are you looking for (when did you buy it?)

I don't have access to any 2008 records. At my dad's ex's and they are going though a difficult divorce.

Anyways I bought the car in 2008, and I have all the records for 2009. If i stretch out all the oci's in 2009 to 8,000km I should be ok for records (I usually did 5km oci's). Just hoping that they believe I parked the car for all of 2008 and drove 50,000km in one year.

Thanks Stealth

Besides a new clutch are there any other parts that I should have installed while the engine is out as preventative maintenance?
