My baby is coming back home!! (Soon to be RX8 owner)

My baby is coming back home!!
Well, after several years, I'm picking up the exact same year and colour Mazda RX8 as my previous one. Pick up will be in six days. I can hardly wait. I've seen pictures and the car history looks really good. In fact, she is a spitting image of my last car.
My big concern:
I wanted to know, does the 8 year / 100,000 mile warranty transfer from owner to owner. Is there special paperwork or phone calls that need to occur to ensure engine coverage?
The car has 80,000km, and I will perform the following inspections and asking questions:
1) significant drop in fuel economy.
2) strange rattling noises after long drive in the upper rpm
3) loss of power after a long drive, plus rough sounding idle
4) takes longer to start the car (verify that battery/starter are good), and car just takes awhile to catch on ignition
Should I ask the owner to do a compression test?
I suppose... if the warranty is transferrable, I should not be as concerned.
I am sure looking forward to getting back into my beloved car.
Nothing else I have driven since, has put a smile on my face.

2009 I got laid off. That didn't sit well with my expensive rotary gal. And Employment Insurance in BC is a joke. (20% of my regular income!)
So I went back and studied to be a "Network and Database Administrator", because:
- There's always a need for these guys
- It's better pay
- There is a lot of work out there
I got hired in a Datacenter at entry level... and... I really like the work actually. I'm very happy with how things turned out.
Well, now that I can afford her, I'm going to get my baby back. Honestly, I miss her so much!
Well, if anyone is in the area in the next few weeks, I'd like to meet up! .... least 2 weeks from today (I need some time to put my toys back into the car) (Make the car feel like "home" again).

Never thought about that.... Maybe I suffer from attention deficit? to me it just seemed more interesting at higher speeds. I guess I find the regular playback speed boring?
Thanks for bringing that up... perhaps subconsciously I like driving fast?
It's just, my preference I guess...

I have'nt been on the forum for awhile. Where did you get the tailight gaskets?
I wish I would have known you needed a strut, I have 4 new struts and springs in my garage.

I could really use a Catalytic Converter right now. Mine is toast. In fact, I won't be driving my car until I get one. It's deteriorating quickly.

If you try to seal up your rear tail light, what happens is that water builds up due to blockage and spills over into the light socket holes.
Seems that the best thing to do is work with the water flow and help it get out quickly.
PS: It's a good idea to seal up the shaft infront of the key hole, as pressure washing will get water in there quickly.
