Mazda 2-20 Sources Montreal SUCKS

Hi,

I brought my 2004 rx8 to Mazda 2-20 on Sources in West Island (Montreal) for recall work. I also told them my brakes were squealling and that I wanted the new pads as per the TSB. They told me they'll look into it.

When I got the car back they told me they didnt change the pads but cleaned and rotated the discs. I noticed however that whenever I applied the brakes I would hear faint grinding/clicking noise. This noise grew so today I brought the car back. They just called me and said that the only noise the tech heard during a road test was from the tires. I offered to come by to do another road test to demonstrate the sound. The said they will only look at it once I change my tires (25% front, 40% rear). on top of that he said its 25$ for the road test

I told them that i know what my tires sound like and this is a distinct sound that ONLY happens when I brake specifically at low speeds. And there's no way I am going to pay for a useless 25$ roadtest! He said ok they wont charge me this time for the roadtest.

Needless to say, they f-ked up my brakes so now i am going to Mazda Laval (heard they are much better). Stay away from 2-20, I heard from someone else they are sh*t but I still went since it was closer - big mistake.

Update

I just got back from Mazda de Laval. Amazing service!

I walk in, they had a tech do a road test in 20min. I didn't even need to go with him, he comes back and says "yea I definetly hear a noise from the brakes". In an hour, I get my car back, with brand new pads, lubricated, cleaned discs, etc. We do another road test together - there is absolutely no sound. The tech tells me there are two rotary experts at Mazda Laval and they know their stuff inside out. On top of that no charge at all (even when mazda 2-20 tried to scam me 25$ for a road test).

In other words.. Mazda 2-20 incompetent, Mazda Laval awesome.

They couldn't even give me the right time of day when I was shopping for my car. I'd never even entertain the thought of them working on it in the service......

Lava Mazda Service

Here is my experience with Laval Mazda yesterday:

1, my appointment is at 10 am, as soon as the work order prepared, they took my car in for service right the way. (Rate: good)

2, I told the service consultant, the air conditioning is cold, sometime it is cold, and sometime it is warm.
Ans: we have to charge you $80 for inspection, if Freon is low; there is another $90 for the Freon.

I said there is a TSB for the air-conditioning.
Ans: it is not a recall, and only applied to Mazda3
I said forget it, I do not need AC now for the winter. (Rate: bad)

3, the car was ready at 11:30, I saw the mechanic parked the out in front of the waiting area. I wait, I wait, I am hungry, and it is lunch hour. May be they still need to work on it after lunch. 1:30 pm, I asked the service consultant is my car ready, the car parked outside since 11:30. He checked the basket, pulled out the paper. Yes, it is ready.

Make me wait 2 hours for nothing (rate: bad)

4, the consultant explained to me the work done and closed up the work order, they did the gas tank insulation recall. Inspected the lower control arm, no replacement only inspection. And 16k schedule maintenance. Total $59.69

5, I rush back to work, have quick lunch. Pull out the statement: Now I am realized what the hell …

A, it is printed:
Cause: type 5
reprogrammation du pcm SSP61
piece #N3H4 -18- 881A : TRANSMISSION AUTOMIQUE

DUH, I have a 2004 6 speed GT manual transmission

B, lubricate all doors and hinges-
did no sh?t - nothing

C, oil/filter change: part no : 0000-23-5W30-qc bulk oil
- DUH- I’ve been using 5-20 and even last dealer did it for 5-20

D, now, when go over rough road, something loose right under the rear seat. I guess the insulation piece or the gas tank not tight enough.

I have to go back today to speak to service consultant on all the work done … The Service (Rate: bad)
