Hello all you Canadian RX8 owners. Just thought I would tell you that the updated disc for the GPS system is now ready. Regular price is $199.00 American. But they have a special on now. I got it for $178.00 taxes and all shipping included. (American)-took only 2 days.

As far as changes, just put in in today, but it seems faster (maybe my imagination), the green bars at the top and bottom for your next turn, current road are now in Blue, much easier to read and looks better with the contrast of the map. Seems like the streets and roads are more detailed, as I really do not see any of the funny jagged lines of curved roads. The blue anoying screen when you start your car, disappears after a few seconds and goes to map mode, but to use it you need to press the joystick.

Look for seach for updates. When you select type of car, year, make etc it will tell you to call a 1-800 number. You will need your VIN number for your RX8 to ensure it will work. Apparently, earlier 8's had a very different program and you will need to get the upgrade first before your new program. Mazda will not pay for the upgrade disc, but will re-program your GPS so it will take the new format if needed. My dealer is very good, but did not know about an upgrade.
