Good Dealers In the GTA
Hey Gang!!
I'm looking to change dealerships. I haven't had the best expereince with my current dealer. I think they tried to rip me off at my last appointment. I brought my car in becasue the check engine light came on and the internal power of the car shut down when I disconnnected the over head sun visor while the car was running. (I know dump move). They tried to tell me my fuse box was flooded and they needed two hours to dry the wires and fix the problem.
I also had an issue when I got my front brake pads replaced they gave me the car back with warped rotters. When I brought it back they tried to tell me it wasn't covered under warranty. THey ended up fixxing it for free. However I'm sick of there BS.
Any suggestions on a good knowledgeable dealer in and around the GTA? Don't say Morningside Mazda. :D

I have visited Morningside Mazda twice and both times they were horrible. First, time it was back in 2003 when the RX-8 first came out, I went to see if I can sit comfortably in that car and the Sales guy had the nerve to to tell that I have order one and put down a deposit before he will let me just sit inside the car. I just wanted to sit in car parked inside the show room, I wasn't even asking for a test drive !!! I then went over to Avante Mazda at Richmondhill, and ask for the same thing. The sale guy there threw me the keys to their demo in the back and ask me to bring it back in 45mins.
The second time was a few months ago. Finally finished my contract work in the US and I was ready to order a 2006 RX-8. From this forum, I already knew the car wouldn't be here until sometime in Nov. I told the Sales Guy, I'm ready to order the car and ask him to check if his dealership offer rental cars for people so I will have a car to drive until my 2006 car arrives. Freaken Sale Person said to me, ok I'll check it for you but I need your Driver's liciense, and credit card for a deposit so I can order the car for you first. I was like, wait a minute, why can't you just tell me whether you guys can accomodate me on rental car first ? and also, how the hack can I put down a deposit on car which you don't even have any information on ?
The guy had the nerve to say, I can't check it for you just like you can't commit on buying the car right now. I was like WHAT ??!!!!
Obviously this dealership is hopeless. Combine with all the horror service stories I have heard on this forum, I think this dealership is waiting to go out of business.
DON'T GO THERE period.

Great guys at Whitby Mazda, except for the sales guys that I didn't buy from.
Andrew Lawrence is the main service advisor and two of the techs, Tony and Steve are good.
Even if you live in the east end, their driver will pick u up and drop you off at home.

Thanks for the information Guys!! I think I will try Avanta or Scarbourgh Mazda as there seems to be a general agreement that they are good. Morningside can go to hell.

Three cars - Miata, Mazda6 and the RX8 with no complaints.. ..kudos as well for Andrew, Steve Sechs his boss and the whole crew in the pit downstairs. Owner Peter Heasty's a great guy as well. Always there and willing to chat about anything or listen to your problem(s) and then do something about it/ them, if necessary. My salesman for 2 of the 3 is well above average.
