Fender Bender Toronto

I just got into a fender bender i hate the 427 in the morning, going to stop going that way to work, all i did was check my blind spot and BANG, traffic came to a stop in front of me in that split second, luckly iw as only doing about 40 trying to merge onto the highway.

All the damage is cosmetic, but it's still going to cost me and arm and a leg to fix. I'm thinking about going after market parts for my bumper and hood, which was where all the damage was, and i have to replace my light covers because they have hairline cracks (they looked fine to me)

I'm looking for suggestions on parts, and locations around the city (Toronto) in which to get them.

Specifically im looking for a Mazda speed front end, and a carbon fibre hood, if im gonna replace it i might as well make it stronger right?

Im probably going to get my front end from extremeparts.ca, but im looking for suggestions on the hood, as well as prices if you guys have them.

Any help you guys can give me would be fantastic.

Thanks,

Wheels

Dude I was so pissed right then, i keep replaying the situation in my head to see what i could have done differently, and to be honest, I can't change anything, since they put in the 407 that road has gotten terrible after 8 in the morning, there's just way to much traffic on that raod for it's size now, and where it happen, you obviously saw me, ther's 4 lanes merging into 2 (2 on ramps and 2 lanes of traffic, it's ridiculious. Anyways, after i get my baby back, ill be taking a different route to work from now on.

Any help with the questions above is appreciated if you know f any where to get the hood, I can't find it in stock anywhere, but i know it will be cheaper and better than the stock hood.

Thanks,

Wheels

A real carbon fiber hood still weights more then the stock one...which is aluminum..

Best of luck looking for parts...

I wouldn't buy your kit from that place, by authentic so no fitting problems etc. IMO!
There are lots of places for hoods...google is your friend.

Shitty about the crash!

Yeah I can't find any carbon fibre in stock anyways and to ship it from anyway it like 2 weeks minimum, and i can't be without my car for that long. Decided to stick with stock, i may get the stock air dam on the front if anything.

I didn't get any responses for stuff and at this point i just want my baby back.

You couldn't get a Mazdaspeed front bumper instead of the stock bumper??
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Trust me, these guys aren't laughing out of mocking you. They all have a twisted sense of humor

Ill most likely get wahtever the dealer can get for me, i told him at least i want the front air dam ad on since i have to replace the bumper anyway.

i may get the mazdaspeed bumper but i really like my fogs, if i can put the stock fogs on a mazdaspeed bumper ill consider it

and weird sense of humour or not, it's still not a fun situation to be in, but i'm over it, nothing i could do in the situation just one of those things just want to move on from it at this point.

Anyway thanks for the suggestion, once my dealer get's approval to go ahead with the install from my insurance we'll be discussing what to put on

Yes, the Mazdaspeed bumper will accept your fog lights.
We spent all last season installing MS bumpers and putting fog lights in some of them. It is an additional option you have to specify when you do get the MS bumper.

Hope the dealer approves it. You'll get a free upgrade.

Great to hear you're getting a "free" upgrade!! I'm sure insurance will approve it.

I wish I had those type of free upgrades...

Neo ... you're not serious right? You rather your car get into an accident and get a
"free" upgrade which will end up raping you for the next few years in most cases?

I do understand...at least OP can make something come out of the unfortunate accident. I did the same thing in my last car...hope I won't have the chance in this one....

Oh no.. by no means do I wish to crash and make a claim to get a "free" upgrade.
If it's your first time I know insurance will wave it. But if it's your 2nd time, you're going to be screwed for the next 6yrs!

I just wish I had enough cash lying around to upgrade my cars constantly. I love upgrading them. Although, there is very little left to upgrade now. The Miata is all done. I wish I had the cash to put the Mazdaspeed kit on it. But alas, this car is my daily driver. I don't think the kit would fare so well in the winter.

The FD has only a few things left before I finally leave it alone.

I see. Well I am very jealous of your possession....esp the FD when it runs haha :P

Just wondering which insurance offers "1st time cherry grace" in accident claims?

Well, I don't know if they still do it, but I know my insurance did that for me the first time I had to make a claim. They waved it through. But the 2nd time they put it against my record.
I finally got all my stars back last year. You have no idea how long 6yrs takes to erase that from your record.

I can't wait to get the FD back on the road. It's been sitting way too long.
