Eibach pro-kit

Just got these springs on but it doesn't look low at all. Supposed to be something like 1" front and 0.8" rear but it's really hard to tell. I drove by a Mazda dealer to look at the stock 8's to try and compare ... again, hard to tell, maybe I'm a bit lower.

So my question is, will it get lower in time? I have been getting conflicting answers from mechanics, some say yes and others say no. Can anybody here solve the riddle? Is it dependent on the type of springs cause some folks on this forum have talked about it getting lower with time but maybe they have different springs. I don't know.

I also was having trouble finding a place to install them on a saturday and finally went to mufflerman ... i hope that wasn't a bad choice. Initially they were going to give me an alignment but at the last minute decided they couldn't do it for my car so I spent hours driving around this afternoon looking for a place because there's obvious neg. camber and I want to drive out to see RPM on Tuesday for an exhaust. Finally found a place to take me Monday afternoon so I'll get the alignment.

Anyhow, sorry to ramble on but would like to hear from others with the pro-kit springs if any.

yes, the springs will settle but no by much. i believe the pro-kits are a stiffer spring.

and ride around 1-2 weeks before you get an aglinement. to make sure the springs had settle properly.

Good luck on the install with RPM.

Turbo,

Hey thanks man. It would be nice if it settled a bit more but we'll see. One thing though, I keep reading posts on this forum saying something like "after the springs are on put the car back on the ground and then adjust the control arms". I really wonder if the shop did this because I didn't see them do it. Could they have missed it? Can it be done later? Sorry to bug you man.

I haven't confirmed the date to see RPM yet but I hope it can be Tuesday. I was going to have an alignment on Monday because I have to drive from London to Kitchener to see him. I definitely have some neg. camber and don't know if I want to drive like that for the 1.5 hour there and back. What would you do ... get an alignment this quickly or drive with the camber off?

like I said...

I would leave for a week..

I just did some suspension work on my mazda3 I am waiting 1 week before I do my alignment done.

Because if the springs do settle some more after alignment, then you would have a problem, the alignment being off again.

Also even after an alignment, the neg camber might still be there just becuase of the drop. our suspensions were designed that way. they might not be able to correct it all with an alignment.

if you wanted to fully correct it I believe you would need a camber kit.

but not sure about that one as i am still riding on stock suspension.

i got 1.2 in out of the front and rear..

you might have to loosen the front upper a arm bolts and drive around the block a time or two...

then tighten them up again...

i can send you photos..

beers

Hey swoope, yes I read your posts on this elsewhere. I definitely don't know how to do that myself but will look into it. Also, the car IS looking lower today moreso than yesterday after driving around a bunch. Don't know if my mind is playing tricks but I am more satisfied than I was but still might need to get some adjustments as you suggested.

Thanks man.

Can't get an alignment

Man, can't get an alignment anywhere. i was worried about driving out to see RPM (about 1 hr) on the 401 with negative camber after just getting the springs on a few days ago. But nobody seems to have the right equipment to deal with an '07 rx8. But maybe it's a good thing because this way I'll let the springs settle for a few weeks and might have to just break down (yikes, no pun!) and go to mazda.

At any rate, I "think" the car is looking lower every day. Still not low enough though. I'll see what RPM has to say.
