Drive clean pass!

The car was stored all winter in Brampton and I had to get tires, then a temp permit then go for drive clean...
So it just seemed like a lot of effort so I'm celebrating...
Now I just need my real tags
Then off to the Dyno day!
Oh, I also pulled apart my DRL module... I have to attack it with my meter while in operation at a later date.
Right now it seems to be working.
Anyway, I was thinking of posting E test results if people want to compare.

The usual...
One high beam or the other full on instead of both on dim.
Did a visual inspection, diode and transistor tests, re-soldered any suspect connections.
So far it seams to be working but it was intermittent before.
I checked out the relays they used and they would be a bitch to source...
It's fun to be driving it again after the Jetta but the way it sucks gas is truly alarming!

Yeah, I'm hoping the MMCCS and the dyno day will optimize the settings but I'm not expecting a huge difference.
Passing the E-test is a bit of a confidence boost that the car is operating in the normal range.

Great to hear your 8 is alive and feeling better. As to the gas I filled up yesterday on a Indian reserve yesterday up north a $1 a liter for prem. Just shows how the rest of us are getting screwed, I believe locally it's a $1.16+.
500 km to a tank, I've never got more that the low 400's amazing, but I don't know if I ever drove 105 km's for a whole tank, it's just not in my nature.

Got barely 400km while driving at ~120 on the 401 coming back from Niagara Falls -- the light turned on at something like 390km and I made it to 400 before fueling at Cornwall... Scangauge indicated I was under the 10L reserve, hence the light.
Most of the time I don't break 300km in city driving :S Car runs very good tho so I don't know what's wrong?! Must be my driving

Hey darkbrew, i noticed your in my area. where did you get the test done, and roughly how much was it? I need to get mine done too (for the first time). I heard running higher octane for the test is like instant pass (higher octane= less emissions?). is that true?

Higher octane won't help.
Unless you use something like pure Alcohol ......
I've been told from some of the piston gear heads around my area that they've run the tank down to almost nothing. Poured in alcohol (a few litres) then went straight to the drive clean test.
Immediately after fill up with gasoline.
I didn't buy it, and neither should you ..... but there u go...
