Sunday is the actual competition day whereas Saturday is the practices and amateurs... I've decided that MoTM is kinda gay at a picnic/bbq thing, so I have to skip out on that this year. There's always the 7 Stock north the week after.

meh... drift comp's aren't all that great anyways. It's purely judged... I almost think it would be more fun to watch the amies sliding around (crunch)!

I'm going to MotM to promote Mazdaspeed North (or try to anyways)... and of course check out the other Mazda's.. hopefully see some of the 3 / 6 guys that came out to Mazda's at Mosport.

lol footman what if there are chicks? not that ghey eh?

IMHO drifting is ghey too since there are no real racing other than just showing off and being judged in style...all subjective. If they can set time record / drift angle / longest drift a la need for speed pro street...maybe it will be more appealing to me.

I remember there are some nice chicks last year at the MotM...:P

I wouldn't go that far. I totally respect what the driver's are doing while their drifting. It's most definately an art and a test of how well they can control the car (think of Dr. Pat goin' around at Shannonville).. and it's always entertaining to watch.

but yes... the judging aspect is where everything falls on it's face for me.

Well I do respect the car control part...its the judging aspect. I still remember the scene at Tokyo Drift where DK drift up the parking lot...

IT was REAL with NO CG car stunt perform by Rhys Stillen

Drift Mania is nothing but a very low budget HIN event. Think of it this way, HIN is Vegas where Drift Mania is Casinorama.
If you're into big shiney wheels, cars stickered up the wazoo, cars that appear to go sideways for a total of 2 min's (the area is very very small for drifting), and seeing pre-teen - Teenagers scantly dressed, by all means, head over to Drift Mania.

If however you have a significant other and want to spend some time with her along with checking out other people and their rides, head over to MOtM.

It's that simple.
