Dealership Didn't Rotate My Tires!
When I took my car into Signature Mazda (in Richmond, BC) for my 16K scheduled maintenance, they told me I should rotate my tires too. I agreed.
When I got my car back, I quickly glanced over my invoice, and the tire rotation was included in there. But I looked at my tires, and I noticed that they haven't been rotated... (I know my tires because I remember which rims I've scratched....)
I didn't really question it... I thought... maybe I remembered wrong... Today, I looked over my old invoices, and noticed that they charged me $15 for the tire rotation... But it said, "Could not rotate tires because no wheel lock". I guess they mean they couldn't rotate my tires because I didn't tell them that my wheel lock in in my trunk? Should they be charging me that $15 if they didn't do any work???? If they found that my wheels were locked, shouldn't they give me a call and ask me?? Or shouldn't they check the most popular place to put the wheel lock key? (in the trunk, with our jack and wrench...)

My dealership didn't find my wheel lock key where I told them it would be so they searched my car and found it in the glovebox under all my stuff!
Kinda weirded me out!
Charging for work not done is fraud. Maybe you should look for another dealer!

Well, I know charging for something they haven't done is fraud... But I don't think $15.95 is the price of a tire rotation is it?
Why I was asking this question was because I was wondering if they were charging me an inconvenience charge for having to look and see that there is a wheel lock...

Actually the most popular place for a wheel lock is the glove compartment. a study was done to prove this.

Oh noes... and here I was thinking that Signature would be fairly decent - I have an appointment with them this week.
Thanks for the update. I'll keep an eye on them. I'm cagey about service departments that I've bought my car from, in general.
You should mention this to their service manager, and say that you've also posted it to the forums on RX8Club.com to let people know of the problems that you had. It is sabre-rattling, but it should keep them in line at least 'til I get there...

Well... Here's a little update...
I called them to inform them of what they have done. I told them that this actually happened back in October. The guy who answered the phone said, "Wow, that long ago? Okay. The next time you come in, we'll credit your account."
If you noticed, there was no apology in there. Yes, I believe an apology would have made me feel a little better. And guess what? Mazda recently mailed me a second survey. I'm gonna take the survey in and see what goodies they can throw at me... If nothing... then muhahahaha! Mazda will have an ear-full about what has happened...

Well, an apology is just words, but at least they'll reimburse the cash. Money, or action, is better than words in this case.
On a separate note: oil change at Signature went very well. Quick in and out. I find it odd having to get serviced before the mileage limit comes up...
