Airbags

It seems as if US, Japan and Mexico care more about the safety of the population than Canada does. ALL Series 1 Mazda RX-8 (2004-2008) have been recalled due to a defective airbag. I have contacted Mazda Canada as well as Canadian Transportation Safety and I am told that there have not been enough complaints or injuries in Canada to issue a recall. Do you think this is fair? Should we just sit around until people start getting really hurt around here? My point is that more Canadians NEED TO COMPLAIN! Contact Mazda Canada, Transportation Safety, even your local dealer.. It looks like this issue is presently under investigation, so the more complaints they start hearing, the better our chances will be of having a safer car too!

Have you tried Mazda North America Operations?
They may have better answers.

I also contacted my local dealer with the same response. At this point I don't really care; I have exhausted myself trying to deal with Mazda on multiple issues. I love my car as a fun summer toy, but would never purchase another Mazda ever again. The quality and service just isn't there compared to other brands. Thankfully this isn't an issue so far.......

They can keep their rusty cars and I will keep my sanity......

Mazda North America said the same; there is no official recall as of yet, in Canada.

Call your MP. It's their job to drive the Transportation Safety Board to enforce a recall.
They gave you the solution: not enough complaints

Anyone have the correct emails to file complaints (MNAO) or the transportation safety board

All the contact information you need is in the owners manual section 9 "Customer Information and Reporting Safety defects."
