Where to go for services

I'm mechanically challenged and after reading through a number of threads, about the problems you've all had with various mazda dealerships i was wondering if anybody could suggest a good mazda dealer in melbourne for servicing? (Do they exist?) ...having the service stamp in the mazda checkbook is good for resale value.

That thread should go to the sticky one that Gomez have started!

But I have not had experience with dealers other than City Mazda. Brighton is good but they do not open on Saturdays. Good people have left City Mazda for Toyota but most people there still quite clue on.

There is no genius in servicing an RX-8 since if there is a major problem. People from headoffice, which is in Mt. Waverley, will send people to the dealership to fix it up.

Hence, I quite like the one in Glen Waverley then .. Will try it next time, just for the sake of not seeing Rita next time I service my car.... she put me in a bad mood with talking to a lady. LOL :D

Brighton charge like wounded bulls....they wanted $380 for the 20K service, City Mazda beat that price by $160. Read the sticky.

Has anyone been to Hornsby Mazda in Sydney for their service? Any opinions on the quality of their work?

Cheers,
john

Gr8M8,

Look at the sticky on scheduled service costs. From memory there were a couple of guys complaining about Hornsby. I suggested they give Brookvale a try instead.

Probably a good idea, except they get rather bulky and irrelevent to those of us in other locations. I was going to suggest Servicing stickys for, say, Sydney, Melbourne and other. That way, you cut down trawling time

Yeah but I like to get an idea what all dealers are charging and doing for you. I guess it's no great effort to look in individual stickys though. Maybe we could develop a ranking system for service and price?

Nuh....there's no info on servicing in this thread. I made the servicing thread a nationwide one so we could see what dealers around the country charge, and compare their levels of customer service.

As I see it, we are already getting a picture of which dealers aren't up to scratch. The more info we get, the clearer the picture will be. It's becoming apparent that Sydney dealers have some work to do.

Gomez.

It doesn't matter as you can get your 8 repaired under warranty by any mazda dealer anywhere in Aust.

If you're still covered under the factory warranty you can have your 8 repaired by any mazda dealer. If you have an extended warranty - be really careful - if its an extension of the factory warranty then s/be no problem to have repaired anywhere, but some warranties (like Holden's network Q) are only valid if you
a. service the car at the same place you purchased it, and
b. have it repaired at that dealership, and
c. is not transferable.
