Sports Exhaust - Sydney

Hi All,

I'm in Sydney and I'm looking at replacing my stock exhaust system with a sports exhaust (CAT BACK) to give the car a sportier note.

I'm interested in hearing from fellow Sydney-siders with recommendations based on personal experiences with sports exhaust kit's on their RX-8? What they purchased? where? and their final impressions.

Thanks in advance,

HYR12K

Thanks for the reply guys.

Damn, thats 6/6 since my last post recommending Hymee.

It's a shame none of you guys are from Sydney. Id love to hear the exhaust note .. the audio file is online but still it's not the same.

Any Sydney-siders with Hymee??

Any Sydney-siders with other recommendations??
Some how I find it difficult to imagine a post in this thread on a recommendation other than Hymee.

i think playa78 has a hymee and 8A8Y8 have the hymee and reside in sydney.

Besides that search the forum for clips/sounds/pics to get a good idea of the difference.

I have the ric shaw system, I love it and am very happy with the look and sound.
I have no direct experience with the Hymee system so I can't say whether mine is better or not.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, really helpful.

Now that I have an idea on what brands are out there .. ill be looking at prices.

Hi-Tech seem to be asking for around the $1500 mark.
I assume the same will apply for HKS Legamax. Which eliminates both.
I don't like the sound of the Borla, or the look of the Greddy & Mazdaspeed.

Interested in seeing how much Ric Shaws system costs.

That leaves Hymee and Racing Beat.
Read alot of good stuff about Racing Beat REV8 Exhaust, I hope its not too expensive and I hope there's a local supplier I can contact.

Not too keen on overseas shipping.

Any Racing Beat owners out there with some feedback?

I'd also like to see/hear the Hymee Exhaust in action. Any sydney siders with Hymee willing to show me?

Thanks all.

I have the Racing Beat Exhaust and shipping costs aside (no local supplier) it is top notch for sound, refinement (no drone), design and quality.

Cheers

If you are after Racing Beat products try contacting Selectmaz 03-9401-1155.

These guys are an Australian supplier of Racing Beat and one of the guys there knows Jim from Racing Beat very well.

this is actually alot more expensive than the hi-tech one

why dont you just get one custom made, that way you can chose the style of muffler and tips you like, as well as the sound

I think Darrin at Gosford mazda has a HYMEE exhaust in stock for an RX-8.

Contact Darrin on 4337-8099 to go & check it out.

Have dealt with other Sydney companies mentioned here & would recommend against dealing with him for many reasons which are not important to the subject matter here. Darrin is a great guy & always willing to put himself out for the rotary guy.

Ring in advance in case its been sold.

Thanks for all the support, guys.

HYR12K, I hope you get to experience one first hand locally. I have shipped a number of them to Sydney. Gosford Mazda has fitted a few to customers cars.

I understand how you would like to hear one "in the flesh". All I can say it is better than the audio files on my (excuse for a) website, and all those who have put there trust in me have not been dissapointed.

I have exported 15 systems to Europe and 8 to the USA to date. Shipping costs hurt, but it is good to see they are being accepted overseas.

All the best for your decision making process!

Cheers,
Hymee.

Hi HYR12K,

I'm in Sydney and I have a Hymee. Whereabouts are you? I can show you this weekend if you like.
