RX-8 Resale Value

Just following a thread in the media section to an article about US Kelly Blue Book Values. The RX-8 is tipped to be in the top 10 to hold value over a 5 year time span. I thought the remarks about customizing cars worth repeating here:

"Car color also plays a role. Kelley reports it's easier to sell a white, black or silver car than a car that's orange, yellow, green or purple. But some shades of red and blue are acceptable.

And don't expect that all pricey aftermarket customizing will make a vehicle more likely to retain value. "Sometimes . . . the very things that personalize the car for you can make it less desirable to a broad customer base when you sell it later," Vogelheim said.

Here are the top ten 2005 vehicles likely retain value the best:*

# Acura TL
# BMW 5-Series
# Infiniti G35 Coupe
# Lexus GX 470
# Mazda RX-8
# Mercedes-Benz CLK 320 Cabriolet
# MINI Cooper
# Nissan 350Z
# Porsche Cayenne
# Volvo XC90"

I admit to checking the resale on the RX-7 before leasing the RX-8. Signing up was a no brainer after doing that.

Does that mean that the neon underbody lights, the 5 inch exhaust tips, the aluminium petrol cap sticker, the 20inch jaycar sub woofers, the cut springs, and the cardboard body kit won't appeal to everyone.

Damn but my cuz said it would, and he should know he does up hyundai excells.
