Review Hymee Enhanced Exhaust
I have recently got the stainless steel Hymee exhaust fitted to my car. The following are my thoughts on it.
These are my own views for what they are worth.

Gomez,
After you have really been giving it some you get some popping happening when you lift off the throttle. I took it to Smoothy's secret test track the other night to see if I could get some flames like some of the Americans have been able to. No luck. But it was fun trying!

Smoothy, I highly recommend a run through the ICB tunnel under the Brisbane Showgrounds with the windows down. Followed Hymee through this on the last drive day. One word for the sound.

Mine still pops and crackes (in the nicest kind of way!) with my new G tune.
Smoothies did have a pop on the overrun when he reved it before he backed out of the workshop. But who am I to say. I am biased.
Cheers,
Hymee.
Oh yeah, before I forget - that is a great informative post, Smoothy. Thanks!
I would highly recommend the WOT run under the Ekka! (Dont speed of course!!!!!)

Have just had mine fitted. A bit of a struggle as Mazda clearly employs former sumo wrestlers to tighten up the clamp from the pipe to the silencer :D My advice: unless you have oxy equipment, a hoist etc, get a professional to fit. Mine just charged an hour's labour -- $65.
Quality -- excellent. My exhaust fitter was really impressed. In fact he wants to stock some, so have put Hymee in touch.
Sound -- I heard Hymee's plus others (in fact, everyone else) at the Wakefield track day. Couldn't really tell much difference then. But the first time I revved it this morning, I had a momentary catch of breath. It is louder, but nice louder. Similar to stock (maybe deeper) plus additional volume and, best of all, an edgier, crisper tone.
On the road, windows up. Don't really notice until you bury the foot and hit 6000. Windows down, you can hear it. Lovely, but not OTT.
Now for the G flash!
Thanks Hymee

It is posts like that that really make all the effort feel worthwhile!
It sounds like it hit the spot for you. Oops - a bit premature there - you need a G flash first!
And an announcement just to hand... Hymee has received his first batch of HymeeEnhanced decals. I will be sending one to owners of vehicles that are bona-fide "Hymee Enhanced". Then I'll have to order some more
Look out for a post tonight on the Multimedia forum.
Cheers,
Hymee.

Wise choice the tapered tips have a lot less carbon build up on them , than the conventional straight type tips(carbon build up seems to stop before the tapering starts ) and i believe that they standout and look better for it .
Glad to see that u have finally succumbed to the tapered tips , hopefully seeing and hearing mine had a bit of an influence on your decision .
cheers

I like the look of the original mazda tip. Can that be replicated in your exhaust.
The special looks fairly big, will it fit into the space provided. You would not want to be too close to the plastics as it may melt.

the tips look massive when you first open the carton Hymee packs them in, but seem to shrink into proportion once fitted to the car.
Timbo, not before time that you are finally H-enhanced, Wakefield seems a long time ago now. I have to agree entirely with your observation regarding factory-fit exhaust clamp. I needed the help of about 2' of pipe leverage on my socket set to loosen them, and ended up shearing one.
regards, jack

Yes - the plastic does melt - if you have been running very hard on the dyno for an hour or so, and there is no air flow to cool things down. One reason Mazda make the Exhaust Finishers I suppose. And the only reason I decided to make some carbon fibre replacement exhaust surround panels.
But the exhaust is Track Proven, and I didn't get any reports of problems following Wakefield Park.
Cheers,
Hymee.

Got my Hymee exhaust fitted this weekend.
Firstly, thanks Hymee for bringing a quality product at a bargain price. I took the car for a run to the Sunshine Coast over the weekend and got to put the system to test.
My first impressions were increased power and lovely sound beyond 3000 rpm. I also found that the gear transitions seem smoother as I power from one gear to another. This could be due to more power or me picking the engine note better resulting in better and faster gear changes.
Overall I am getting a better driving experience and more enjoyment out of my car.

Pictures of my Hymee Exhaust
At long last I have got round to taking some picures of my new exhaust.
The basic view of the exhaust
A close up of the tip. Just like the stock except much bigger.
A view of the rear suspension. This is now visible as the replacement muffler canisters are much smaller.
It has been a few weeks since the install and I am still a very happy camper. I have now taken the car through a few tunnels and the sound is awesome!

Nice pics, Smoothy. A bit big at the res - 400+ k each, but still good.
Grab a copy of Paint Shop Pro or something, and resize them to about 640x480 before you host them. Brings the size right back to less than 100k. I always do a "Sharpen Image" on mine as well.
I thought the tip was scratched when I first saw it. Then I realised the Hy polish was just reflecting the aggregate in the driveway!
Cheers,
Hymee.
