Question renesis doesn't last long

i have read in one of the forums, i can't remember where that the renesis seals do not last long something like that anyway.
Has anyone read or heard of that?
To rectify the problem they recon that renesis be ported and to top it off apparently MAZDA knows about this problem

that is 110 hate mail Gomez and kimba. People do overhall the RX-7's 13B-REW but hey the Japanese are known to waste stuff and their house have things 90% new. That is why their 2nd hand car is so cheap

Interesting link Gomez. Thanks.

Looks like another case of "The sky is falling, the sky is falling - let's all go and tell the King..." :D

Fortunately the sky round here seems to be still firmly in place, so I don't think we need to round up Chicken Licken, Turkey Lurkey and the gang just yet.....

It will be telling what we find out in a few weeks time during the engine dyno testing

I wonder if we will find out something that just missed being picked up by those extensive dyno testing facilities oustide Hiroshima? (I'm too tired and lazy to go find the sacastic smilie to insert here. Someone else can do it for me )

Cheers,
Hymee.

I was driving my RX-8, and after 5000 miles my engine ran out. It's a good thing the renesis is so light, I keep a spare in the trunk now.

The Renesis is so fragile it failed all the durability tests in Hiroshima and Mazda eventually decided not to go with it in production. At the last minute they shoehorned Subaru-sourced turbocharged flat-4 in the engine bay as no engine available from the Ford Group would fit in it without major body re-design. Kenishi Yamamoto got fired and Subaru is now a very profitable company.

I've actually heard that the Renesis intentionally craps out at 20,000 miles so the driver gets screwed. The only solution is to buy a new RX-8.

Seriously, these threads suck.

I just get a my hamster out with his wheel if any of my rotaries crap out.

Put it this way i've never owned a piston car in my life..... Until last week.

I've blown one engine (13B-REW) by fault 8,500rpm hit my rev limter with the boost sensor vacuum pipe fell off. Leaned the car out BANG engine died.

Still smoked the Supra Twin Turbo till in blew up and I still drove it home with a blown engine.

The Renesis is bulletproof. We had our test car racing around a track everyday for a week solid and none had any problems at all.

Rest easy !!!

Naa that was ages ago.

I have a new engine now. Ported and balanced with Mazda Comp 3mm Seals.

Cost me just under $7,000 but its pretty damn strong, well it feels it.

So........

I'm not ready to sell her, hell i'll never sell her. Shes the perfect track car.

Also I just upgraded my Aircon System

Now all I need is a RX-8 but I have enough unfinished projects.......... As it is.

But the Renesis engine is heaps better than the REW. Biggest problem with the REW was heat. The renesis has better cooling and no turbos and the the new engine config is a big step in terms of rotary development.
