Removal of Cat and implications in NZ re WoFs

Can anyone shed some light on the removal of the cat and whether I will still get a Wof/compliance for the 8?

Have been told that if a car was imported before 2010 (not sure of date) that certain standards didn't apply and would allow for removal of the cat.

Well I did the cat/plugs/leads/went to d585 coils and a K&N air filter all at the same time - I've only got 50k on the clock but the idle was smoother, cleaner pull through the rev's and it feels more responsive. One thing I did notice is better fuel economy but this could be due to the coils were starting to fail (Trailing front was dead) - I'm now getting 390-400km per tank and I drive it every day into the city non peak which is around 70km.

Wife thinks it's got louder and she notices as I leave at 5.45 in the morning but it's quiet in my opinion until it gets into the higher rev's.

390-400kms? I got 491kms out of the last tank, and that was 50/50 town highway driving.

My average 390 - 400 is pretty average - I do have a small 200 metre climb up a winding road to get home each night which may have something do with it.

Will PM you nzmkey
