I just wanted to inform ALL RX-8 owners that IMO this is a critical MOD or ADD on which will help to save your engine and keep your engine OIL from circulating minute metal particles around your engine below 25 microns...your Oil Filter CAN NOT Catch these.
Considering the Series I RX-8's 04-08 have NO factory installed Sump Magnet like the FC RX-7, and Mazda have re-introduced this same sump magnet in the 09 RX-8's....I would ask...WHY???? IT IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY TO HELP YOUR RENNY'S ENGINE...
PLEASE JUST DO IT!!
Ash, I'm sold on this magnet and just tried to order it. When I type in the car model details it suggests 2 magnets. A small or a large. Would I be better off with the large as it is a stronger magnet? The one you recommend is the smaller one.
The other question is, does it matter where they are placed on the oil filter?
It is held on by it's strong magnets on the outside of the filter.
You can see it (SS250) if you look hard enough...
YES they are reusable and will last a lifetime..
